Goochman #1 Posted June 16, 2006 Well, I didnt get my network stuff running on my Mega2 ST but I was able to try out WolfST - Wow, what a great job these guys did. I have an AdSpeed 16mhz upgrade and it ran almost too fast - Some things were a bit chunky but a great translation. Nice seeing something like this run on a Mega. And on a side note - I really love the way the Mega case/keyboard design was done by Atari - one of the best cases from that era IMHO.

Goochman #4 Posted June 20, 2006 yea damn impressive this running on an st. imagine if they had it for the 1040 back in the day somehow... :-) I thought about that but there are a few reason why this wouldnt fly back then: 1. Min RAM was 2meg - very few ST's had more than 1 meg 2. 1.5meg of disk space - even fewer ST's had hard drives with the luxury of dedicated that must HD space to 1 game. It wouldve been too slow trying to run from floppy if even possible. So in todays world of $50 Mega2's it is very affordable - back then not so
Gregory DG #5 Posted June 20, 2006 Anyone tried BadMood on a Falcon? I always wondered how that looked...

GT Turbo #8 Posted June 22, 2006 Is there a demo of WolfST available for download? Go on Ray(TSCC) website, here GT
emkay #9 Posted June 22, 2006 Is there a demo of WolfST available for download? Go on Ray(TSCC) website, here GT I'm really impressed. The last version I saw didn't really work. But the latest release really kicks some ass. It's really playable and the speed effect by strafing along the walls is fully relieable. The only bad thing is the limitation of RAM. I have an 1040 ST and a MEGA ST1 and cannot test it on the real thing.... because 2Meg's are needed.
Goochman #10 Posted June 23, 2006 Yeah - I had to disable all my .ACC's inorder to get it to run (hate those malloc errors )
calfranklin #11 Posted June 24, 2006 Yeah - I had to disable all my .ACC's inorder to get it to run (hate those malloc errors ) This is my problem also (I only have a 1 meg 1040STFM). Will this demo run in an emulator?
Gunstar #12 Posted July 2, 2006 (edited) I'm downloading WolfST right now to hopefully play on my Mega/STE, I already have Substation and Destruction Imminent, two early attemps at a Wolfenstein clone, both pretty good, but I also want something better. I'm curious though, as to how most people here who have this game got it onto their Mega's and Mega/STE's with the 720k disk drives. Rianata #13 Posted July 2, 2006 To transfer huge files or a lot of files to one of my ST's I always use PARCP. The program is free (although limited) and the necessary cable is easy to assemble yourself. PARCP Homepage
Gunstar #14 Posted July 2, 2006 (edited) No need for all that. All I had to do was transfer a few files at a time, it's not a huge disk image, just files. Now, I've got it on my 4MB Mega/STE and the opening&title screens run with music, but right after the title screen it goes black and freezes. So, who has gotten this game running and on what machine? The bugs.txt file says that some have encountered problems with NVDI installed on their 4MB Mega/STE computer, but I really don't even know what NVDI is, and I don't think I have it on my Mega/STE. Anyone have any ideas? I tried it in 16mhz with and without the cache so far, it't supposed to work on even a Falcon, so I would think it shouldn't be a problem running in 16mhz instead of 8mhz, and in fact, I think it has to be... Goochman #15 Posted July 5, 2006 I transferred via 720K disk also Mine ran on a Mega ST2 w TOS 1.04 I believe (rainbow tos?) - No .Acc's loaded. I have an AdSpeed 16mhz installed and that was fine also (almost ran too fast ) I would turn everything off and run from bare bones ST.

I was trying to load it through NeoDesk 3 with maximum accessories too, and a bunch of boot-strapped utilities. I suppose it's a conflict with them. I would think my TOS 2.05 would be a good TOS since this game is suppose to work better on the newer, faster Atari's.
