Ze_ro #1 Posted August 31, 2001 This game is friggin' awesome. That's all I have to say --Zero
Tempest #2 Posted August 31, 2001 It's one of my favorite games, now if only I could get to the secret Battlezone level... Too bad it never made it to the Jaguar, it would have kicked butt. I wonder if they even started it? Tempest
Ze_ro #3 Posted August 31, 2001 It's really too bad they never ported this game to anything... it's definitely one of my favorite arcade games of all times. Only problem was that the only T-Mek machine I ever found was in the Mall of America in Minneapolis Also there was the only Primal Rage machine I ever found. For some reason, arcades around here never got those games. Anyone know of any available games that are like T-Mek? I'm a huge sucker for Battlezone games --Zero
Tempest #4 Posted August 31, 2001 It actually did get ported to the Sega 32X, but who had one of those? Tempest
Raccoon Lad #5 Posted August 31, 2001 I have one, but I feel kinda stupid for wasting all that money on it new. At least it had arcade perfect Space harrier.
Tempest #6 Posted August 31, 2001 I remember seeing it when it first came out and thinking it really didn't add much to the system. I still don't know why they released an upgrade like that. They should have waited until the Saturn was ready. It's the Star Wars game that interested me. I almost bought one just becuase of that. Almost... Tempest 995, 996, 997... Ze_ro #7 Posted September 1, 2001 I really think that they should have made the 32X compatible with the Saturn. This incompatibility is what killed it in my opinion. (Of course, the 32X didn't have a CD player... perhaps you'd need a SegaCD as well or something) --Zero
Albert #8 Posted September 1, 2001 I love T-Mek and someday must get one for the personal arcade I'll build someday in the future. And you can't just have one of these machines, you need two or three, networked together. Oh yeah. I didn't know it was released for the 32X. It's too bad Atari Games (Atari Interactive, Midway Games East) is now out of the arcade business, I would have loved to see an update of this game given today's modern hardware. Here's KLOV's page on T-Mek if you'd like to read more information on it: KLOV's T-Mek Page ..Al [ 08-31-2001: Message edited by: Albert ]
caveman #9 Posted June 6, 2003 T-Mek was a brilliant game. Have you ever finished it? I've done so a few times playing the slow but fierce Assault Mek. It's a challenge, and you're gonna SWEAT trying, but it can be done. Too bad it didn't make it to the Jag.

I have certainly never finished it, it's never been in an arcade close to me (at least not that I know of) so I've only been able to enjoy it while in other cities. And I bet it'd be tough to track one down now. This is one I'd like to have at home. ..Al
mr.bill #11 Posted June 15, 2003 The problem with t-mek is that its too big! Atari should have released it as an upright. I own proto 1 and its a single player upright. t-mek is great! If you have some skills, keep your eyes out for the boardsets and controls. They pop up on ebay from time to time. The bad news About t-mek is that the boardset needs an external audio amplifier. The good news is that its audio board is very smiliar to primal rage! I have swapped audio boards and I think its 100%(I have to do more testing). One of my summer projects is to convert a dedicated primal rage into a 2nd t-mek upright. If anyone is interested, I can document What I did and pass the info along.. In fact, it's been a while since I've even fired thisup on the PC. Ought to try to dig it out and see. -Curtis
Gregory DG #13 Posted June 15, 2003 Yeah, the PC version is identical to the arcade. I can't tell any difference anyway... It's great! Now, what about Space Lords? I always wanted a home version of THAT game. Shoot, it's not even emulated.
Albert #14 Posted June 15, 2003 Yeah, the PC version is identical to the arcade. I can't tell any difference anyway... It's great! Except you're not sitting in a big cabinet with the booming base behind your back. That's part of what makes the game so great. Now, what about Space Lords? I always wanted a home version of THAT game. I've never seen one of these! I see it's another game that can be networked together for up to 8 players. Looks pretty cool! Shoot, it's not even emulated. Well, that sucks, because now I can't see what the game is like. ..Al
curtishart #15 Posted June 16, 2003 The cool thing about Space Lords is that you can have up to 4 people on one cabinet (Kinda like Cyberball) but on either side, one player is the pilot of that screen, the second one is a tailgunner of that ship. And I believe you could link up to 8 cabinets! That's 32 players simultaniously. THAT would've been cool to see/play. -Curtis
mr.bill #16 Posted June 19, 2003 space lords can only link 2 cabinets for a total of 4 players/teams. Each player can have an additional gunner. Not a tail gunner as he is firing the same direction as the pilot.
Trade-N-Games #17 Posted July 6, 2003 I love T-Mek also. I play the 32x sega game all the time its not bad it has a split screen 2 play mode thas fun. Im looking to buy on in the next year i would guess around $1000 would be good if it was in good shape.
SteveW #18 Posted August 6, 2003 I played Space Lords years ago. I wasn't too impressed. Fun idea, just not too fun to play. But then, I was playing alone. Before T-Mek came out, my fave tank-type game was Namco's CyberSled. Boring in 1-player mode, but totally rocked with 2 players! But a lot of the units i've seen over the years have been broken down. Was CyberSled just prone to breakdowns?
