Remote Control Wireless Joysticks FS (2600)

Recommended Posts

I have a really nice set of these, boxed, like new, with instructions. They work all right, but I think the multiple cordless phones and wireless networks in my apartment building interfere with them. I had to pretty much sit right next to the TV/transmitter box.

They look just like the ones in this eBay offering, except they are boxed. I'll get a pic up this evening.

$30 shipped. Batteries not included.

Camera troubles, anyone want to auction a cart for me so I can get a better one? :)

I still have these and need to get rid of them. Send me a trade list or cash offer if interested!

I honestly have no idea and my Googling got nothing.

Will they work for the 7800 system?

Bumping this because I STILL HAVE THEM. As you can imagine, I am ready to deal. Must go; make an offer.

You've got a PM. This thread alone made my drop the PSP and come to a computer...

Although the sticks are compatible with the 7800 as controllers, the power socket on the receiver will not accept the 7800's power plug, and the power plug coming from the receiver will not fit the 7800. They are powered in a pass through fashion, so you need a 2600 compatible power adapter in addition to the 7800 brick to run the whole thing.

Or you need to mod the 7800, the receiver, or both. The best bet is either to make them both run from Genesis adapters, or to make them both run from 2600 adapters if you want to preserve the receiver's original design.

They didn't work terribly well back in the 80's either. One of them is on 27mhz and the other is 49mhz like most RC toys are. They are highly prone to undesirable interference. I used to use them on a C64 and only one would work reliably, can't remember which frequency it was though. I'd forgotten about the pass-thru power cord, I must have had a spare adapter to use with mine.

My old set worked fantastic even in 2003. I imagine they still worked well up until the time they were thrown out. (not by me, either)

The thing for me was to keep fresh batteries in them. I don't think they liked NiCd cells too much. Still, it's very well worthwhile to not have to mess with the cords. I'll be using them at a distance of about 2 feet from the receiver. that'll keep the wires from getting snagged on my CX-40B. I might even sell my FB2 with its sticks once I get a set of these.
