Albert #2 Posted June 23, 2006 That's awesome! I'd love to have one of those in good, working condition (with a bright screen!) and for $50 you got a great deal. ..Al
jbanes #3 Posted June 23, 2006 Oooo, it's even luggable! Next time you're on the bus/train/plane/whatever, wait until everyone pulls out their fancy new HPs, Macs, Levonos, and RhymesWithHells. Then whip out this monster and see if you get any incredulous looks. Bonus points if you bring along a car battery. Nice find!

tjlazer #7 Posted June 24, 2006 (edited) Well I have another one, that is a 4MB with a very dim screen! Yeah that would be awesome to walk into a Star Bucks with the baby!!! hahaha. I should make a video of it sometime! I can see it now, as I set it up, ask the baristas if they have a phone line as I setup my hayes 1200 baud modem!!! jaysmith2000 #9 Posted June 24, 2006 Could that STacy be use to with the Jag Dev kit? What a score! Ironically yes. There are ST tools for the Jaguar. One of my Stacy's was used solely for that purpose at Atari HQ's.

jens #14 Posted June 29, 2006 (edited) You could put the bright er screen into the four meg Stacy and then give it a Pak 3 - 50 Mhz 030. Edited June 29, 2006 by jens
+DarkLord #15 Posted June 29, 2006 You could put the bright er screen into the four meg Stacy and then give it a Pak 3 - 50 Mhz 030. I'm just wondering, since Ben Heckendorn did it with that 8bit laptop he built, why couldn't someone replace the current STacy screen with an LCD that does the correct synching so that color resolutions could be used as well? http://www.benheck.com/Games/Atari_800/Ata...00_laptop_1.htm The signal is already there - there is an external monitor connector, right? That would be pretty awesome, IMHO...
jens #16 Posted June 29, 2006 I think it would make sense to put a Matrix graphicd card onto the Mega Bus within the Stacy. And then a switch to use your screen with a resolution of say 800x600.

Hmm, I sometimes have trouble getting my ideas across... I meant replace the LCD sceen thats currently in the STacy for one that will handle all the rez's...I really don't want an external monitor... The matrix would be a great solution as far as better rez's and colors go though... For sure... maybe then feed that into a replacement LCD that could handle all the signals? *That* would be the coolest!
