Faxandu

 

Evertime I see that game in my collection I cringe. Plus the lable is frickin pink. I just picture some sort of clown RPG in a circus, as a result I haven't even played it. >

 

The name sounds like a sequel to this movie from 1980.

 

Funny you should mention that, as that name is exactly where the name Faxanadu originated (although not from this movie). According to its own Wikipedia page, Faxanadu is something like a side-story to Nihon Falcom's Xanadu, the second game in their Dragon Slayer series. The "Fa" in the title comes in from the Famicom. "Faxanadu is a mix of the names Famicom and Xanadu.
