Linspire?

I bought a copy of the Linspire OS off of E-bay and I'm curious as to why you need a fast computer to run it. I used an old PII-400 PC and it was decent, but when I tried to simply run Wolfenstein 3-D on it, it ran verrry slow. I have a toshiba 1.5ghz laptop now so I was thinking about creating a dual OS machine with it. Any ideas?
