Schmead55 #1 Posted June 27, 2006 Well, I'm bored, so I guess I'll do my best in starting a good thread: What's the best game or most well-known game you don't own? I'm not talking about super-rare games, I'm saying well known, fairly common games that you simple have never gotten. Any system you'd like. My example is: Atari 2600-Joust TTFN Mateo
guitarmas #2 Posted June 27, 2006 It's kinda rare, but I've always like Little Samson for NES.
SteveW #3 Posted June 27, 2006 I never owned E.T. for the 2600 until recently. I still haven't bothered playing it. I knew a kid who had a Sears Telegames 2600, and he always wanted a Combat cart, since his console came with Target Fun. I hope he eventually got his wish. I'd like to play Motorpsycho on the 7800. I know it's not that great of a game, and it's slightly more rare than other games i've bought in the past, but i've always wanted it since reading something about it in the earliest issues of GamePro Magazine. Their minimal space devoted to the 7800 is usually why I hunted down games like Ninja Golf, Basketbrawl, Fatal Run, and Alien Brigade back in the day. I don't recall ever seeing Motorpsycho for sale at Toys 'R Us, though.

Mad Scientist #5 Posted June 27, 2006 I've never owned a Sony console and I didn't have an SNES in the heyday, so I've never played a Final Fantasy game beyond the first US NES release. I'm not sure if they are the "best" games that I've missed, but they are among the most iconic. I am an RPG fan, though, so I'll perhaps I'll break down and play them in a few decades when I finally have enough free time. -Eric

+FujiSkunk #8 Posted June 27, 2006 For modern consoles, name a title. Odds are I don't have it. As for older consoles, I don't have any Final Fantasy titles for any system. I did own the first Final Fantasy for the NES briefly, but it found a new home via eBay.

Flojomojo #10 Posted June 27, 2006 Battlesphere Gold. I had the original for the Jag, but didn't play it enough to justify keeping it when there were others out there who wanted it more than me, so I let it go at my original cost. I'd love to have a similar game that: used wireless analogue controllers had internet multiplayer had integrated voice chat was readily available on a mainstream system I'm hoping that Void War comes out for the XBOX 360 Live Arcade soon, that would be most excellent. Whoops, I just re-read the topic. BSG is super-rare, but I'd still like a copy for somethign other than the Jaguar.

christianscott27 #17 Posted June 27, 2006 Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine N64 Its a little uncommon being a blockbuster only title but I'm a pretty big Raiders of the Lost Ark fan so I feel its absence. That and Paper Mario are probably the only N64 titles I'd clear the calender for if I found them.
Flojomojo #18 Posted June 27, 2006 Mario Kart for the N64. It just never appealed to me. Final Fantasy 7 and Resident Evil for Playstation. Yuk. Marathon for the Mac. I liked Doom better. Metroid for NES. I probably would have gotten into this one. Madden football for anything. Because I don't like football. Pokemon. Disgusting character design, even though the games are supposed to be addictive and fun.
Student Driver #19 Posted June 27, 2006 I've had a 2600 since around 1980 or so, and collected heavily for 2600 in the late 80's and early 90's, scouring flea markets for harder- and harder-to-find titles, having scooped up all of the commons early on. Then once day, probably around 2000 or so, while making a list of my carts, I realized I didn't have a copy of Centipede. I have no idea how I'd missed such a ubiquitous title in nearly 20 years of collecting, especially when I was amassing every game I could find, but I never picked up a copy over the years. I guess I'd played friends' copies so much that I assumed I had the game when hunting carts in the wild. (Got one a short time ago, so I'm no longer in need...) I own no Madden games for Genesis, either. Genesis carts are like the audio cassettes in Neil Gaiman's book Good Omens-- they transform into ultra-commons (Madden titles and/or Best of Queen, depending on the format) when left out-- so I almost feel lucky in this regard. AtariJr #20 Posted June 28, 2006 Nights into Dreams for the the Saturn you cant get a copy of nights? i mean its uncommon, but you can pick up a new copy with the 3d controller if you go on ebay like me and get it for 25-30 bucks...
Narifia #21 Posted June 28, 2006 for me, it'd probably be the original Final Fantasy game for the NES. I don't know why exactly, but I always liked it better than its oh-so-famous sequels. Also Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana for the SNES, though I ordered Final Fantasy Chronicles for the Ps1 yesterday which has a remake of Chrono Trigger on it, so I'll no longer be without my favorite game also, all of the Mega Man games for the NES and SNES. I love Meg Man, especially the music from Mega Man 2. Also, and I don't know if this counts, but ever since I read about it online I've very much wanted the Earthbound prototype for the NES, but good luck getting my hands on that xD And for the Atari 2600, I'd have to say Texas Chainsaw Massacre just because of the sheer cheesyness of the game for the Atari Lynx, well, I'd like to HAVE a lynx first off, and as far as games go I would love to have Chip's Challenge and a couple others whose names I can't remember right now. 8th lutz #23 Posted June 29, 2006 (edited) nes- Tecmo Bowl series, zelda tg-16- too games to list. Just starting out for the system. sms-Zillion 7800-ninja Golf you never had zelda? nes: super mario bros. 2 2600: yar's revenge genesis: in the zone with deon sanders I got the orginal version on Game Cube now, but not for the nes. I got it for the Gamecube in 2002 or 2003 with the system. For some strange reason I never did buy it for the nes in the latter days of the system My brother and I got a nes in 91 and we were not into action rpgs or zelda type games until 1995 when I rented Crusader of Centy for the genesis. The closest thing to the original Zelda I played was adventure. I ended up with with a lot of older systems and games for some the older systems like the sms was not cheap and getting ps 1 games at the same time period. I am talking about 97 to 2002 with me getting a dreamcast in dec. 2001. I was getting a good amount of dreamcast games at a time when the rarer games was about to get hard to get offline with a decent price. When I played zelda for the gamecube, I didn't like it as much as Zelda 2. It is a fun game, but I felt it wouldn't make sense for me to buy a nes cartridge of the game when I got the disc for gamecube with the 2 zelda's on the disc.
