last cart you ever bought

California Games at K-B. It was in the clearance bin for 97¢. (Price tag is still on the box.) It was my freshman year of college, so '93 or '94, and if I had to pick the exact moment in which I started "officially" collecting Atari 2600 games, then that was it. Over the next year or two I picked up a few games from the Radio Shack catalog... Jr. Pac-Man, Glacier Patrol, Secret Quest, and Quest for Quintana Roo. I think they were all $10-15 each at the time. Then I bought one of everything from O'Shea back in the 80¢ per game days, plus plenty of homebrews, hacks, and reproductions. Most recent was A-VCS-tec Challenge, which I just paid for several hours ago.

I'm pretty sure the last cart I bought, when the stuff was still available, was Tax Avoiders, for ridiculously cheap at K-Bee...

 

As for the last one I REALLY bought...hmm....I think it was Defender 2 and Midnight Magic, via eBay.

The last new and SEALED 2600 games I got was back in 98 at a Chinatown Electronics Games & Music store near Cenal Street where to this day they still have some old sealed NES, Sega CD and Jaguar games but I got all there 2600 leftovers and the three was Frogger, Raiders Of The Lost Ark and Tron Deadly Disc all for $5 bucks each

(I did Intellivision throughout my childhood and got hooked on collecting Atari when everyone else was playing NES in High School. I went CRAZY when the 2600's hit Big Lots/Odd Lots back in 1992/1993. I bought a ton of stuff in a matter of weeks- however many Atari games my summer job paycheck could handle!)

Define "NEW." Do you mean new as in realeased within a few months, or new as still in the original packaging?

The last game our family got was Sky Jinks. My dad picked it out. I think because he liked airplanes and he happened to be working on his private pilot's license at the time.

thats why i didnt include bargain bins or big lots, i took it as last cart i had to buy full retail and pitfall2 was that game

 

other wise i would have to say either Ebay or CPUWIZ (for a 2600 game, i think)
