Kenshi #1 Posted April 12, 2002 When I was a little kid, I went to the skating rink and played an arcade game. I can't remember the name but I remember the objective. It's a basic space shoooter, from the angle of Asteroids. You fly around shooting other space ships. Some of them will give you a special weapon. Then you have to go shoot the boss (who looks like a head, I believe) with it. It'll blow a piece of him off. You keep doing that until he's invisible, and then you deliver the final shot. Anyone remember this game? I've been wondering what it is for years.

liquid_sky #4 Posted April 13, 2002 Try out http://x.mame.net/ (since best i remeber use youa .nix platform.) Once you get it downloaded and running, just do a search for MAME roms online, then find and download sinistar.
Nukey Shay #5 Posted April 13, 2002 Rom search?? Nooooo! Don't send him to topsite hell. Sinistar can be had here.

Kenshi #7 Posted April 14, 2002 Thanks for the suggestion. Xmame is in ports so I can have FreeBSD install it itself. (I'd like to see Windows download and install programs by itself.) Finding the roms may be more difficult. I know a site ( www.pe2000.net ) that might have them, but I'll just have to check.
liquid_sky #8 Posted April 14, 2002 i love the way linux..freebsd.. use files to automatically unpack and install things. I got a mandrake build runnin dual boot.. never used freeBSD tho. How is it?
caveman #9 Posted June 6, 2003 That SOUNDS like Blasteroids. If you had a spinner/paddle controller and three buttons- FIRE, SHEILD, TRANSFORM, it's Blasteroids. If you had a joystick in the center of the console and two buttons- FIRE, SINIBOMB, then it was Sinistar. Both had speech, and both had "bosses" to defeat and get you to the next level. I'd check www.klov.com to see for sure.
