crom1970 #26 Posted January 31, 2015 Thanks for the list, my 10-yr old son and I played Frogs and Flies and MAD yesterday. Good Times!
chas10e #27 Posted February 3, 2015 no one mentioned Co-Op Space Invaders ( I like standard Co-Op play myself #33 ) another interesting thing I've done is play most all variations of Combat in one sitting, possibly skipping a couple maze variations & swapping controllers for the 1~vs~3 variants it's nice when I have my younger nephews excitedly ask if I brought my console to play some Warlords ... I keep a setup in a "go-bag"
iwan-iwanowitsch-goratschin #28 Posted February 3, 2015 Indy 500 and Joust
Philflound #29 Posted February 3, 2015 I definitely would go with Maze Craze, since it was easy to lure the other player into following you. Warlords technically isn't 2 player, but I'd put that in my top list too. Any sports game is better 2 player than against the computer. Wizard of Wor is cool for the fact you work together. +save2600 #30 Posted February 3, 2015 Joust, Mario Bros., Wizard of Wor, Super Breakout, Space Invaders, Combat of course, and... Super Challenge Baseball!
+bfstats #31 Posted February 11, 2015 Xonox Artillery Duel. It's a (very) poor man's Scorched Earth!
Mr SQL #32 Posted February 11, 2015 Joust, Mario Bros., Wizard of Wor, Super Breakout, Space Invaders, Combat of course, and... Super Challenge Baseball! Agree on Wizard of War, Joust and Combat save2600. I think Pong variants/Video Olympics have better two player action than Breakout.
RFWarrior #34 Posted February 14, 2015 Agreed on Armor Ambush, love that game (and I played Combat from launch). Video Olympics is great too.
kisrael #35 Posted February 15, 2015 Ha, old thread! I tooted my own horn about JoustPong but now I'll throw in http://alienbill.com/loaded4bear/ -- both are solid head to head games!
Elvis8Atari #36 Posted February 20, 2015 My favorite two play Atari 2600 game is Realsports Volleyball. (And I don't like sports) But I think this has the most fun two player gameplay for the system. Also great: Frogs & Flies, Warlords, Maze Craze
chuckwalla #37 Posted February 21, 2015 When I had a reliable gaming buddy it was Indy 500 and Combat - great gaming times!
rexreed #38 Posted February 22, 2015 I absolutely love Sears Telegames Maze. I do not remember the Atari name but Maze with two people would make us laugh and also get really angry growing up. Tank Plus was another gem and as a really young child Target Fun was a beast. I remember playing with my dad and hearing those Target Fun sounds brings me back in time. Gribble101 #39 Posted March 18, 2015 Bowling is a pretty fun two player game too.

donssword #41 Posted March 21, 2015 Fishing Derby by Activision. I second Frogs & Flies, just don't forget to toggle the difficulty switch. And I'm saying Combat, just because it really is that good.
Army Of 2600 #42 Posted March 21, 2015 My wife and I enjoy a game of Frogs N Flies occasionally.

+iesposta #44 Posted April 10, 2015 Dodge 'Em I was just asking about classic 2P at same time games that would hold the interest of pre-teens / teens. VectorGamer make a video rating all of them one after another as playing same time fun rating. They are not all paddle games.
Ranma #45 Posted April 12, 2015 dodgem, outlaw, mario brothers and circus are my faves
acelkin #46 Posted April 13, 2015 Well, since this post was revived, I'll go with G.I. Joe. My 21 year old son came over the other day & we played it for about an hour, got 50,000 points, which is way better than I can get solo on it. I never owned this one BITD, just got it a few weeks ago. Lots of fun, there's even a 3 player option where you can play as 'The Cobra'!
bigfriendly #47 Posted April 14, 2015 M-network Super Challenge Football. Always fun to juke your opponent out and get additional yardage. Also liked to break coverage to get open for the pass reception.
