Mike 01Hawk #2 Posted July 13, 2006 Well, I caved and got a GX Pro off ebay. It looks like it didn't have an easy life, gonna have to bust out the cleaning supplies: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=200004730065 The auction price was nice, the shipping.. um.. not so much. Oh well. Ha.. in the span of a few months, I've gone from 1 pc, to 4. (The Packard Bell in my sig, a 486 I got off another forum, and this GX Pro)
Tempest #3 Posted July 13, 2006 We have a whole bunch of these back in the testing lab. I don't think we actually use them for much anymore except apps that require the old hardware configurations. Been awhile since I've seen one in service though. Tempest
Mike 01Hawk #4 Posted July 13, 2006 (edited) Yeah, I'm sure they're clogging the closets of some old businesses. I read up on them over on vogons, sounds great for what I wanna do. Plenty of ISA/PCI slots free since the ethernet is on the mobo, even the sound too, but I'll be using a sound card. In total there are 5 PCI slots, and 2 ISA slots, but the 2 ISA slots share the PCI, so it can be a mix. The seller though was the slowdown feature, able to turn it from a 200MHz to 8 MHz on the fly Hopefully slow enough that I can get Wing Commander 1 working on it.
