BERZERK, Its ALIVE!

Today I finally got my Berzerk game to work! And let me tell you.....it is freaking FANTASTIC.

Now how do I go about rigging it so I don't have to use quarters?

Well if you have a manual for the game you could look up the dip switch setting and set it to free play. This would be the easiest thing to do next to doing some soldering and rewiring and adding some credit switches.

Congrats - Berzerk is one of my all time favorites

 

KLOV has the manual for Berzerk. Don't know for sure if it has a free play mode.

 

Just make sure you don't end up like Jeff Dailey or Peter Burkowski.

I don't know about Berzerk, but all of the games I have experience with have a switch on the coin door that will allow the game to work with it open. You simply pull the little knob out, and the game powers back up. At this point, put a quarter in the coin slot, and look for a small trip at the bottom that registers the credits. Just flick this as often as you like.

One of the popular "stealth" techniques is to connect a leaf switch in parallel with the coin switch and mount it behind the coin return. So to add a coin, you press the coin return.

Thats a good idea. I looked in the Manual the cab came with and it appears it did not come with a freeplay setting so it looks like the stealth method for me.
