SomeGuyWithDSL #1 Posted July 15, 2006 For posterity. Let's hear the games for current systems, PS2 / GBA and later, that you suspect will be R8 or higher in the not-too-distant future. I realize there are already some PS2 and GBA games in this boat, due to their huge libraries, but how about stuff no one is watching? Some of the end-of-life Xbox games still trickling out, maybe? And there are a couple of DS games out there with almost nonexistent distribution. Reprints can change anything, though, I guess. I'll throw out this one: Texas Hold 'Em Poker Pack for Nintendo DS (BestBuy.com page). It's different than "Texas Hold 'Em Poker DS" which is much more common. chrisbid #3 Posted July 15, 2006 there wont be many rare optical media games, as they are far easier to reprint if the market sees any unusual demand for any particular title
AtariJr #4 Posted July 15, 2006 there wont be many rare optical media games, as they are far easier to reprint if the market sees any unusual demand for any particular title yea, but the xbox version of Marvel vs Capcom 2 isnt as rare as lets say Dreamcast for instance... and most of us collectors want the oringinal ones. Just becuase its easy, doesnt mean we want it, or that they will even consider doing it... youll most likely just see dloads like Wii's service or Xbox Live, and those wont be collectible at all... Shannon #5 Posted July 16, 2006 there wont be many rare optical media games, as they are far easier to reprint if the market sees any unusual demand for any particular title Since when does rarity have to do with popularity? Most rarity 8 titles suck so much stores couldn't even give them away. How do the publishers no such a demand even exists? Internet petitions? Unusual demand on ebay? Customers walking in to stores inquiring about said title?

Cubivore? yes thank you... i agree with shannon btw and re-releases of games usually come on the popular common titles that company knows people will buy... not a game like cubivore for instance which little to no one cared about...
