NE146 #8 Posted July 16, 2006 (edited) Hey I asked you how do you beat Donkey Kong 3 (as you asked had anyone beaten it yet) since the game pretty much never ends. I really dig the game actually...wheras before I didn't. Ince I got 2 things into your head, I saw it in a whole different light. 1. It's a Galaga/Galaxian type shooter. 2. You DON'T have to shoot Donkey Kong. Actually as the game progresses that pretty much gets almost impossible. You clear the stages by destroying the waves of bugs. BrianC #9 Posted July 16, 2006 I love Donkey Kong 3. I highly recommend checking out the Greenhouse Game & Watch game (which is in Game & Watch Gallery 3) if you are a fan. IMO, DK3 is more of a follow up to that game than a true Donkey Kong sequel. Many of the elements in DK3 come from Greenhouse.

homerwannabee #11 Posted July 16, 2006 Again there should be a warning. Do not click on a NE146 link. As far as beating Donkey Kong 3 goes. I do not think it is possible. It goes on forever. At the age of 13 I did score 1.8 million on the game. What makes this game interesting is the fact that After you flip the game, it stops giving out free lives. So flipping it twice would be a real feat since you have no extra men.
+kisrael #12 Posted July 16, 2006 I think it's an underrated game. Galaga-ish, but DK is then a kind of "mothership" that few shooters of the time had, and the ability to hop on different levels was pretty unique as well.

Nuff said if you don't shoot donkey kong he falls on you Yes.. but what I meant to say is you don't have to beat him (i.e. shoot him off the screen). Hence my saying that as the game progresses that pretty much gets impossible. Although in the first few levels that is exactly what you should do.. as you go on, you can only keep him at bay and you clear the screen by destroying all the waves of bugs.
