Almost Rice #1 Posted July 17, 2006 (edited) 20 years ago...LINKY Other Atari 800 XLs with no accessories or programs go for $75 to $110. So I'm asking $75 for the base processor. Systems with a disk drive and joystick go for $120 to $150. Because I'm also throwing in a printer and modem and other gadgets, the total for accessories is also $75. Most games/programs go for $4. So $68 for those. Total starting price ($75 + $75 + $68) = $218. I would like to sell my 800xls without accessories for $75-110. He must have seen the 130xe with MyIDE that sold last week and thought he could cash in with his stock system. Ansiterm #2 Posted July 26, 2006 I tracked that one because I have a 130XE I'm going to post on Ebay and wanted an idea of where to start and what to include. There hasn't been a bid on his XL system. I think he would have done better with a low starting price. 20 years ago...LINKY Other Atari 800 XLs with no accessories or programs go for $75 to $110. Paranoid #3 Posted July 26, 2006 Are the later computers prior to the ST line compatible with the original 400/800 8 bit Atari computers?
atarivision #4 Posted July 27, 2006 That is a nice lot, but the price is not very nice. It will probably be hard for him to find a buyer for the whole thing, but not impossible. He needs to find a newbie willing to spend that much cash (not always easy), as it would make a good starter collection. I couldn't justify bidding on it at that high price since I really only wanted one game. I am curious to see if he relists the lot or splits it up. The high minimum bid suggests that the money is important to him, so either way I think we have not seen the last of this one. Matt A.
Ansiterm #5 Posted July 27, 2006 I agree that he has a lot of good stuff there. I'm thinking of selling a 130XE with a hard drive and a joystick or two on Ebay. I've seen a few successful Ebay sellers with small packages rather than listing all the individual pieces separately. I have other peripherals and software, but I'm thinking keep the package on the small side so more folks could bid on it. That is a nice lot, but the price is not very nice.
