CT63 Falcon Screen resolutions

Recommended Posts

Well, I have a CT63 Falc humming along nicely now, have mint+xaaes+teradesk. The one thing I note is that the 640x480 stock rez is starting to suck. I researched a bit for screen rez stuff, and found :

videlity

videomode

centscreen

centvid3

None of them seem to work very well. I have a VGA LCD flat panel that works well with the stock resolutions, but it seems to be pretty hard to get anything other than that. What I am looking for is some advice on what utility to use, what settings might be useful, and can I really expect to get a significantly higher resolution out of the stock videl? Specifically, I would really like to get 1024x768, or at least 800x600. I can switch to a multisync tube monitor if that would be better.

Thanks folks.

I use everyday my Falcon CT63 with a Vga (Tube) monitor in 800*592 with Centscreen, any problem, before i used Videl Inside but he was a little more technic but allow you to create your own rez, but that can be dangerous :)

That sounds good, would you mind posting the settings you are using in centscreen?

Guys, I gotta ask, I thought that you couldn't get higher than stock rez's without

the video/bus mod?

I mean the CT series is awesome, but didn't think that they do anything for video

enhancement.... :D

Just wondered does centscreen work on a stock falcon running Magic 6.1?

I don't use Magic but i think it must run with, in 68030 mode Centscreen run nice, i have had any problems in two modes (68030 and 68060) with this prog.

All those proggies will work, as the Videl has a higher bus frequency clock which is not used for stock resolutions.

A program as Videl Inside or CentScreen uses those better frequency to get higher resolutions.

I have a stock Falcon running 800x608, and I tried CentScreen some years ago, that gave me flickering 1024x768.

Ah, yes: Videl Inside has resolutions that should work on every Falcon, most other proggies have to be toyed around with...

No, I mean Videl Inside or Videl Insight - not too sure about the spelling, but I think the first one is right.

Videlity is for fiddling around, Videl Inside is just for click, save and go.
