Channel F on MESS - Tic-Tac-Toe

Recommended Posts

Just discovering this system for the first time and am wanting to see it's games etc.

I have found that MESS is the only emulator, Although I have hit a problem (already) this is in relation to Videocart 1 containing Tic-Tac-Toe, Shooting Gallery, Doodle & Quadra-Doodle.

I cannot for the life of me get Tic-Tac-Toe to load, the other 3 games ? no problem!

As per the MESS instructions Use 'MAME coin inputs (keys 5, 6, 7, 8 ) are used to select the game at the G? prompt'. But '5' Starts Shooting Gallery, '6' starts Doodle, '7' starts Quadra-Doodle and '8' does nothing :? No other keys work.

Has anyone got Tic-Tac-Toe working I presume they have as screenshots are available on the 'Video Game Museum'.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have never tried to get the Channel F to work in MESS but I will. It it interesting though that I have all but three of the Channel F US releases and duplicates of most. I have 5 copies of the Video Cart 1 and I have three working Channel F's and 1 Chanel F II (works but has some problems). Anyway, Regardless of which console I use or which cart #1 I use, All of my units instantly lock up when the cart is inserted. So I can never play tic tac toe. None of my other carts have this affect.

Sorry, I know it doesn't help with your post I just thought it an odd coincedence.

Videocart 1 must be cursed :!: this can be the only explanation.

Perhaps Tic-Tac-Toe is that bad we are not meant to play it.

Glad you could get it to work.
