Milan Computers - what are they?

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I noticed on some newsgroup that people mention about a Atari TOS clone called Milan which comes from Italy. I left the Atari ST back in 1992 and lost track of the developments regarding the Atari ST series of computers.

Could someone tell me what exactly the Milan series of computers and what the hardware specs are?

Something that gives me a bit of pause after reading thier website is this:

In the meantime, however, Milan Computer GmbH owns all rights to the TOS operating system;

Does this mean that I'm being involved in illegal activity by using the TOS for my emulators? I do own an ST computer, mind you...

man it costs SOO much to get one!

i would have to shell out over 1k CND just to get one, then another 500 CND to buy this tempest addon that can beef the Milan from like 60 or whatever mhz to about 200!!! (300 is what they say is max but thats a lil pushing it)

man i wish i had money, id honestly use the milan if i could afford it and almost leave this PC to waste! (well, id prolly give it to my brother, since with the tempest add on they would be about equal!)

Did anyone notice that the website hasn’t been updated since 1998? And about TOS, they must have reverse engineered it because there is only one company with the full rights to TOS and the original source code and they aren't it.

Actually the company is from Germany. You can find out more about them on their homepage.
