8th lutz #1 Posted July 27, 2006 (edited) http://www.gamespot.com/news/6154729.html This update has the following: The main features are support for animated and graphical content through RSS (really simple syndication) channels and an update to the LocationFree player, allowing hardware registration through wireless LAN access points. To simplify life a bit for the multimedia junkies, the PSP will now recognize media saved in music, picture, and video folders in the root directory, as well as AAC music files with the .3gp extension. Last but not least, a demo of the puzzle game Tama-Run has been added to the portable system's download page--but only in Japan. Agent X #2 Posted July 28, 2006 Last but not least, a demo of the puzzle game Tama-Run has been added to the portable system's download page--but only in Japan. I haven't done the update yet, but I just might have to do so soon for this demo. Tama-Run is the Japanese version of the game that is known in other parts of the world as Mercury Meltdown (the sequel to Archer Maclean's Mercury). The Japanese Loco Roco demo convinced me to update to 2.70, and then the US Loco Roco demo did the same for 2.71...now the Mercury Meltdown demo is tempting me to go to 2.80. By the way, the US will be getting a downloadable demo of World Tour Soccer 06 to go with firmware 2.80 (European site already has it). I already got a UMD demo of this game in the mail a few weeks ago, so I might not bother with the downloadable demo right away unless it is substantially different.
