pocketmego #1 Posted July 31, 2006 This came up as a suggestion on another post and I liked it a LOT. Who deseeves to be in the Video Game Hall of fame? tell me who you would pick and why. I would definatley include the original core group that started Activision, just for having the guts and vision to become the very first 3rd party company and fight the Atari juggernaut. each of those creators also made some fine and enduring titles, many of which are still unbelievably fun and playable today. David Crane would get special recognition for being a GREAT game creator and the father of the multi level side-scroller. -Ray
2600Lives #2 Posted July 31, 2006 Well, you can't leave out Bushnell, of course. That's a given. Miyamoto, is another given. Hell, the Blue Sky Rangers could have an entire wing devoted to them and them alone.
Shannon #3 Posted July 31, 2006 I assume that arcade video games count as well?
Matt Fisher #4 Posted July 31, 2006 (edited) Just off the top of my head: Dave Thuerer, deserves it for Tempest alone IMHO, but also Missle Command and I, Robot. Edd Logg: Centipede, Asteroids, Gauntlet Eugene Jarvis: Robotron, Stargate, Defender Ralph Baer: Odyssey and the "Brown Box," first TV game. Steve "Slug" Russell: Spacewar on the PDP-1 Willie Higgenbotham: Tennis for Two (in 1958, arguably the first video game) Tim Skelley: Star Castle, Ripoff, Reactor, other Cinematronics stuff Obviously forgetting quite a few. Why: mostly for designing great games, but also innovators, like Baer, Russell, and Higgenbotham Edited July 31, 2006 by Matt Fisher
figgler #5 Posted July 31, 2006 (edited) David Crane of course. He could have a nice little plaque next to the Miyamoto wing Edited July 31, 2006 by figgler

pocketmego #9 Posted August 1, 2006 David Crane of course. He could have a nice little plaque next to the Miyamoto wing Which would be the GREATEST honor they could bestow on Myamato. -Ray
Shannon #10 Posted August 1, 2006 I think you should name it the "Myamata video game HALL OF FAME" with the primary room consisting of Myamata accomplishments and the other rooms branching off from it. Comeone people... Keep it in the other thread please..
