Multiplying MIDI channels

I am in the need of having more the 16 midi channels on my Falcon. I thought of using the Mario Becroft's MIDI3 adapter, but it looks like it's only for STs.

I also thought of linking (as a slave unit) my MEGA4 with the Falcon and use its midi ports as additional ports. Any thoughts?
