t.skid #1 Posted February 12, 2002 I'm doing my first steps with Falcon, and I need to know somethings... i.e. how to start MultiTos I think that the Multitos wasn't installed on my hd, but I've ask to a friend that give me a disk with it (he says that it is the last MultiTos Atari did). So I've copied the files but I didn't see any change.
Gaiyan #2 Posted February 12, 2002 Did some files load from the Auto folder? Basically MultiTOS looks the same as regular TOS but you can run several applications at the same time. MultiTOS is old, slow and buggy. I recommend you installing MiNT or MagiC or even Geneva. MiNT is free. Joshua
t.skid #3 Posted February 12, 2002 Well, I try to put the multitos files inside the auto folder (basically there's three files, gem.sys and other two). I'm trying to use multitos, only for make the falcon able to surf on the web. About MinT, I've read something. For your known, it's difficult to set-up? Thanks
Gaiyan #4 Posted February 13, 2002 MiNT is very easy to install. MiNTNet itself can be a little hard. MagiC on the other hand is a breeze. Joshua.
t.skid #5 Posted February 13, 2002 Probably you already understand that I'm a newbie with Falcon I was a user of ST in the past ('86) but I didn't know much with this new little beast. It's normal that the desktop looks very similar to the ST? I mean drive icons & windows. 'Cause I see on the 'net some screenshots of falcon desktop that have a nicer icons. BTW, under tos, ot mint, MagiC etc. Another question: multitos have only two files? I have "gem.sys" and the config file "gem.cnf" Thanks!!
Clint Thompson #6 Posted February 18, 2002 I'm using MultiTOS too, just got my Falcon the other day. So MiNT is free eh? Where can I aquire it? Thanks Clint
Paolo #7 Posted October 17, 2002 I used MultiTos on my STe, just for CAB and PPP connect, since I didn't want to master the absurd STiK2 installation (at that time). I wouldn't use Mtos, nor Mint now, unless I needed some multitask. Just use STinG.

Tempest #9 Posted October 21, 2002 Not to change the subject, but I have a TT030. What's the best OS to use? I was thinking about using MiNT myself, is it any good? Never heard of STiNG before... Tempest
