shadow460 #2 Posted August 1, 2006 Nice find. Maybe we need an "official dumpster finds" thread. It's better than the near minty games I got today or the day atlantis I found and passed on.
markheus #3 Posted August 1, 2006 (edited) found all of this in a dumpster plus another 4 swich that i gave to my sister who was with me COngratulations!!! They look like standard 6 switchers to me. One thing I am curious about is the dual controller. I haven't seen one of those before, nor have I seen them in the hardware list or on eBay. Do the paddles have full 360 movement or side to side movement? Perhaps one of the Atari Oracles will chime in on this. +remowilliams #4 Posted August 1, 2006 One thing I am curious about is the dual controller. I haven't seen one of those before, nor have I seen them in the hardware list or on eBay. Those combo stick/paddles are Coleco Gemini controllers. And nice dumpster find, by the way There definitely should be an all encompassing 'saved from the landfill' Atari thread. Those finds are much better than any thrift or yard sale
benmmaddog #5 Posted August 1, 2006 the dual controllers have side to side movement and that is the name of them too, Dual Controllers
markheus #6 Posted August 1, 2006 Those combo stick/paddles are Coleco Gemini controllers. Spiffy - Though they look like more of a pain to use than a regular controller. Those finds are much better than any thrift or yard sale Free is always the best !
Rik #7 Posted August 1, 2006 (edited) found all of this in a dumpster plus another 4 swich that i gave to my sister who was with me i do have one question the label has fallen off of them so i don't have a number but they have numbers stamped on back one has 410 and the other one has 431 .both boards (the one with the switches) say Rev.B i'd like some info if any body has any thanks I just can't comprehend why someone would throw treasures like that in a DUMPSTER,at least they can donate to a thrift shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,I guess its just one mans garbage=another mans treasure!proof there for sure! But then again, its also good in a way cause you get the stuff for FREE in the GARBAGE ,right? Shawn #8 Posted August 1, 2006 Those are in fantastic condition!! Way to go!! I can't belive some people just don't care and would rather chuck the stuff. I know my opinion is bias cause I am an Atari fan but anyone that just throws out stuff like this should at least donate it to charity or something. Heck I bet some kid in their neighbourhood would like to have even an "old Atari" versus nothing to play at all. But none the less nice score dude!! madhatter667 #13 Posted October 11, 2006 Those Gemeni controllers are sweet (never seen them before, or knew what they were til I read this thread). Awesome find for nothing!
JacobZu7zu7 #14 Posted October 11, 2006 Noone asked if they work yet? Well, thats just retarded, that someone would throw out a working VCS. Not to mention the joysticks. I have like 5 joysticks, half broken. That's another story.
Video #15 Posted October 11, 2006 That's a pretty sweet find. Hey, did you find a Gemini too? I noticed you have two controllers for it, and I've never seen the console itself. Wonder why any idiot would throw that great stuff away for? Stupid asses.
II_DeLo_II #16 Posted October 11, 2006 My friend once threw out a nintendo with 20-30 games! Man, I was mad at him. I would have given him money for them, and he just threw them away. I'm still mad at him!!
Zonie #17 Posted October 11, 2006 My co-worker's girlfriend tossed a Sega saturn and aboug 8 games in the trash after he told me I could have it for free. Dumb woman!
nester #18 Posted October 11, 2006 Just remember, every time a 2600 get's thrown away, the resale value of our own systems goes up about 1/100 of a penny. It's a slow but safe investment.
