super_dos_man #1 Posted August 4, 2006 I'm going to buy it because it looks awesome! anyone else as excited as I am?
Agent X #2 Posted August 5, 2006 Yes, I'm excited. In fact, I bought it the day it came out in the US. If you like the games on the disc, then you'll be pleased to see that the conversions are amazingly accurate to their arcade counterparts, with all of the animation intact. The load times are among the shortest yet on PS2, and you can even install it to the HDD for faster loading. It has lots of options to tweak, including simulating different variations of the arcade games with their distinctive glitches and game balance quirks). You can also unlock extra games on the disc (Street Fighter Alpha 3 Arranged and Hyper Street Fighter Alpha) as well as other secrets. The only downside is that it lacks some of the extra features that were created for some of the home versions of these games, such as the World Tour mode in SFA3. Overall, this is a wonderful package that Street Fighter fans will surely treasure.

+kisrael #4 Posted August 5, 2006 Is that the one that has he puzzle fighter game?
sega saturn x #5 Posted August 6, 2006 No, he's talking about pocket fighters, it's just a cutsey mascot style fighter. It's fun for what it is and looks great. I picked this up a few weeks ago fantastic collection, and it was only 30$ cant do much better than that. Although even arcade perfect I'm not fond of alpha 3 too many lousy characters watering down the line up IMO. Alpha 2 is without a doubt the best game on the collection. NightSprinter #7 Posted August 6, 2006 Yeah, Pocket Fighter (a.k.a. "Super Gem Fighter X") was a simplified game that used cutesy SD versions of characters from a few of the various Capcom fighters (SFA, SF3, and the one I can't remember where Tessa/Tabasa is from). Allows for leveling-up of special moves (hence the "Gem" part), and some characters even make various character cameos for their combo attacks (like Ryu using Balrog's gloves, or Chun-Li donning Jill Valentine's S.T.A.R.S uniform and rocket launcher). The game is amazingly comical, but the best feature was the simplified commands for various "Mighty Combo Attacks" (the term for a super combo/super art in this game). Makes those who have trouble inputting Akuma's "Raging Demon" command have an easier time, or the same with Zangief's "Final Atomic Buster".
+kisrael #8 Posted August 6, 2006 Damn, I was hoping for a version of Puzzle Fighter, the Tetris Attack like game. I have it for PSX but it doesn't seem to work in the new slim PS2s
