+RandomPerson #1 Posted August 6, 2006 (edited) Hey, Could someone who has a good working jag emulator running on a PC please send me a PM so I can tickle their brain for the exact info I need to get a jag EMU working on my PC please? I want to get the exact same files and ini's as you setup so I can play. All the jag EMU's I have tried just don't work (or I'm just dumb and can't get them to work). I need all the info from what EMU right up to getting a copy of the BIOS that is real. I've been playing with the idea of collecting for the Jag but I would like to try out all the games before I start buying any and also so I can play them on my PC while tracking down the real carts. EDIT: I have a very powerful PC so system requirments are no object. Thanks In Advance, Shawn Sr. Edited August 6, 2006 by Shawn Sr.
+RandomPerson #2 Posted August 7, 2006 Not one person on this site uses jag emulation and is willing to lend a hand?
+remowilliams #3 Posted August 7, 2006 Now I certainly don't mean to belittle the work of talented individuals out there, but Jag emulation is still pretty horrific at this time. Hopefully that will change one day
+RandomPerson #4 Posted August 7, 2006 Now I certainly don't mean to belittle the work of talented individuals out there, but Jag emulation is still pretty horrific at this time. Hopefully that will change one day I just found that out threw experience as I was able to get Project Tempest and Virtual Jag both running to their espective abilities and they both suck pretty hard. Too bad though for sure, here's hoping it improves in the near future cause the potential is there for sure.
+remowilliams #5 Posted August 7, 2006 Too bad though for sure, here's hoping it improves in the near future cause the potential is there for sure. Definitely. A lot of hard work has already been done on these projects, but there is a lot more to go. And considering; the Jag fan base is pretty small, the Jag is sort of a great big messy pile 'o processors, the fact that emulator authors (especially console) draw all kinds of retarded heat from 'users', and that the Jag community in particular seems to have this nasty habit of eating their own - who knows. I wish any author luck who tackles it

bedouin #7 Posted August 8, 2006 Buy a Jaguar. It's the only way to play the system really.
+RandomPerson #8 Posted August 8, 2006 Buy a Jaguar. It's the only way to play the system really. I totally agree. I hate emulation with a passion but it does give me the chance to get the feel of a game to see if it's worth buying or not. AFAIK that is all emulation is good for. bedouin #9 Posted August 8, 2006 Yeah, I agree. When I said "only way to play" I meant that literally in the Jaguar's case.
ls650 #10 Posted August 20, 2006 My experience is that PT runs Tempest 2000 extremely well on a decent PC, but that VJ is the better emulator for most other ROMs. Neither one runs more than a handful of ROMS decently. I believe that PT hasn't been updated for a couple of years. VJ is apparently being worked on still, but an update hasn't been released for several months. kevin242 #11 Posted September 1, 2006 I like playing Tempest2k better on Proj Tempest then the real thing! I dont have it installed on my latest system (core duo 2ghz) but it ran perfect on my old Pentium 4 3ghz. I couldnt get any other Jag game to run good but Tempest ran perfect. I prefer it to my long gone Jaguar since the sound and controller is better on my pc. If you are looking to play anything but Tempest you are pretty much out of luck though.
