Need to know this old coinop.. Fire Chief?

Recommended Posts

Quoted from another member on another thread:

There was another electro-mechanical I remeber playing alot, which I have never seen on the net. It was a firefighting game where instead of a gun you would control a water nozel that would spray real water at a building at the back of the machine. The windows of the building would light up as if on fire and you would have to direct the water nozel at that window. The game even had a hand operated windshield wiper to clean the front glass of the machine.

Looking around the net I found one possiblility http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.p...p;game_id=13001 but I can find nothing else about this game. Can anyone help? This sounds very cool and it's driving me crazy not being able to find anything out.

Well judging from how much info is on the internet and how few people actually collect these older games, just posting one post on an atari message board isn't going to yield a ton of info (except for the stray person that says "hey, I remember playing that")

And I am pretty sure the people who do collect these get them from auctions, friends, or non-internet warehouse deals. And when your looking for one obscure game the chances of finding it go down even more.

I can't help with the info, but I can tell you I remember playing it!

I used to play at the Green Gables Mini Golf Arcade when I was a kid.

That was one of my favorite games!

I think you misunderstand.... I was just hoping for any info on it, like confirmation that I have the name right or who made it, anything that might make my search for more info any easier. Not expecting miracles. I probably couldn't afford one anyway, I just get curious and have to learn :)

Broonale, can you confirm that the name "Fire Chief" is correct?

You need to talk to a pinhead group, they are much more likely to be knowledgeable about EM games.

I found this on a pinball group:

"I have two games that use 8-track tapes. Twin Pirate, a rifle game, and

Fire Chief, where you shoot water into the windows of the "Burnz" building! "

Pinball group.... yeah, I guess. Just hoping someone around here would know. I like to try "at home" first :) I'll go looking for a good pin group.
