breathdeeply #1 Posted August 13, 2006 Does any who owns both games for both Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo systems have a preference as to which game is superior for either system, thanks.
chuckwalla #2 Posted August 13, 2006 I only own Zombies for the Genesis but definately go with Earthworm Jim for the Genesis (the SNES graphics may have been slighly superior but all around gameplay was inferior compared to the Genesis version as most sports/action titles are). Lord Thag #3 Posted August 13, 2006 Zombies is just kinda average anyway.
nester #4 Posted August 13, 2006 I always perferred the Genesis version of Zombies. I'm not exactly sure why. I think it was because it seemed more appropriate on the Genesis.
2600Lives #5 Posted August 14, 2006 I always liked the SNES version of EWJ. I saw no real difference in gameplay, as they were the exact same game, and the SNES had a major edge in the sound department. Still, if you want the ultimate Jim experience, nothing beats the Sega CD version.

A friend of mine has the GBA version, but I've never played it. Is it a SNES port?

The Genesis version of Earthworm Jim has smoother animation, more animations, better control, and an extra level not in the SNES version. The Sega CD one sounds even better with remixed levels and another extra level. I heard mostly negative things about the GBA Earthworm Jim. It's a SNES port, but it's a poorly done port with choppy animation.

Radio F Software #10 Posted August 18, 2006 My friends and I always found the SNES Zombies to have easier controls, especially when changing weapons and items. EWJ for Genesis is also my preference. Sadly I own neither one.
Vic George 2K3 #11 Posted August 18, 2006 Only played SNES Zombies. It came off as sort of a weak imitation of Gauntlet and Alien Syndrome.
number six #12 Posted August 18, 2006 Only played SNES Zombies. It came off as sort of a weak imitation of Gauntlet and Alien Syndrome. Zombies is a classic. Sure it was basically an update of Gauntlet with monsters, but they did it a lot better than some of the actual Gauntlet sequels did. It also had a good sense of humour. A very solid title. Now I didn't care too much for the sequel..
Phineasfool #13 Posted August 18, 2006 I usually preferred the SNES of Zombies, but as mentioned the Sega CD version of EWJ was the best. Went with the Saturn version of EWJ2 though.
