sega saturn x #3 Posted August 18, 2006 That happened to me TWICE, the first time my ds got chipped because my ass hoel friends wouldn't help me carryt anything. So I dropped the case and when it hit the floor it sprung open and caught the ds and chipped it. With my lite same thing except it was my family that wouldn't help me carry anything. This was a day after I had gotten a lite, well I dropped it and the same style case sprung open again. And I got black top on the system, whats the point of having a case if it fucking springs open? I did get about 99% of it off thoguh with a mr clean eraser. So now only I can see the very very tiny little scuffs.

Atari-Jess #5 Posted August 18, 2006 I have so many scratches and worn paint edges on my DS I like to consider it more grey than platinum It's not *really* this bad, but its humourous
Atari Master #6 Posted August 18, 2006 Curious here. Considering people get custom paint jobs for the DSes sometimes, would be it be far fetched to get my DS's paint chip repaired? I mean if people can paint an entire system....
figgler #7 Posted August 18, 2006 I don't see why not. It'd be tough finding the exact matching clour though. I think you'd need to repaint the whole thing. Maybe you could send it to Nintendo for repair. It might cost you, but perhaps they could give you a new shell entirely
Atari Master #8 Posted August 18, 2006 Eh, it's the platinum color so... It's probably easy to find the actual paint. I see people on ebay seeing DS systems in parts. Kind of makes me feel better, as I can replace the top if I ever needed to. The two chips are barely noticeable. One is barey bigger than "." if not smaller. The other is slight paint wear at the VERY VERY edge.
King_Salamon #9 Posted August 18, 2006 at least these problems are the shell of the system and not the screen itself... imagine the same issue with a PSP... you would likely have a scratch on the screen... that's what I like about the DS.
Atari Master #10 Posted August 18, 2006 Yeah, the system is quite durable. The PSP is just... Not...
