shadow460 #6 Posted August 19, 2006 So in layman's terms, this is a multi system memory card that plugs into the right joystick port. If I understand correctly, its primary function is to save high scores and maybe in the future save game progress on the 2600 and 7800 systems. How much? supercat #8 Posted August 19, 2006 I have a few. Could you test it with Strat-O-Gems? I've push the envelope for EEPROM speed a little bit in that game; I've never had any trouble with my AtariVox, but it didn't like the one Albert had at MGC (though his was a board design that lacked the pull-up resistors). If the pullup resistors are too feeble it might have trouble; if so, it would be better to find it now than after all the resistors are soldered in. There really isn't enough time in vblank/overscan to write data to the EEPROM much slower, and the instant replay function is just too cool not to want it to work correctly. If you send me a NTSC version of it, I will. The one in the archive is PAL.
supercat #10 Posted August 19, 2006 (edited) If you send me a NTSC version of it, I will. The one in the archive is PAL. !? Really? !? That's odd. I just downloaded it and the banks that are supposed to contain the NTSC version are blank. I'll have to dig up the binary for that. CPUWIZ #11 Posted August 19, 2006 If you send me a NTSC version of it, I will. The one in the archive is PAL. !? Really? !? The real game is dual-mode. Try holding RESET on power-up. No dice, it just rolls.

Thomas Jentzsch #13 Posted August 19, 2006 (edited) Hm, now that StanJr is gone, maybe I should start wondering about another Thrust update. BTW: IMO it needs some (translucent) case. Edited August 19, 2006 by Thomas Jentzsch

supercat #23 Posted August 19, 2006 @Supercat: TV settings and high-score were saved perfectly. Have you seen the instant replay function? THAT's the coolest (need to get a score of 100*level on a single play, or a score of 1000+ on levels 10 and up).
