Really, it's a total pain to use it for serious development, especially when you have to change your controllers between keypad and joystick all the time. The CC2 at 115K baud just totally blows it away. As for debugging, I ended up writing my own monitor (linked in by including its asm source) that does a serial connection through the right joystick port.
