YarsRevengeFan #26 Posted August 22, 2006 Empire was one of my favs for the 2600 when it first came out, until I realized you couldn't beat the damn game! Grrrr!
pocketmego #27 Posted August 22, 2006 It was at least innovative enough for Yak to rip it off. Twice! LMAO!!! Good point. -Ray
kirin jensen #28 Posted August 23, 2006 We're talking Mythicon bad. Which of Mythicon's games do you think is better? While I'll admit I'd put Starfox in the "almost playable" category, Empire seems like a much more substantial game. Sorceror is a hell of a lot more enjoyable. The music may kind of suck, but you can turn down the volume if it bothers you.

Video #30 Posted August 23, 2006 It was one of my early faves of the system. Totally innovative for it's time. Cool that you could shoot up the enemies, if you got lucky and hit a week point you could destroy it instantly. And most awesome that you could take multiple hits your self. And it even had a landing pad that you could fix your ship on a couple of times. Probably one of the most awesome of etheearly games IMO. I did kind of wish it had an end or something though. I always thought it should be beatable, or have levels or something. Someone could do a hack of this with levels with the different types of walkers on it, or other ships, that would be awesome. In this case Yak did have the right idea. He put a limited number of Camels into Attack of the Mutant Camels and once you defeated that wave you moved on to the next and the camels moved faster and shot more. This is probably the way to go with Empire and would have made the game somewhat more conclussive. -Ray
NovaXpress #32 Posted August 24, 2006 (edited) In a Video Games magazine interview, the Parker spokeman said that the only thing missing from the final design is the leg-tying cable and the shield generator which should have been located to the far right of the playfield. I think the game sucks anyway. Edited August 24, 2006 by NovaXpress
Opo Terser #33 Posted August 24, 2006 (edited) I think the game sucks anyway. Generally my reaction as well... I also can't get into the whole Chopper Command-ish games either. Edited August 24, 2006 by Opo Terser
