Trade-N-Games #2 Posted August 24, 2006 I think a nice one of those would go for around that price complete. And I have seen them sell for that much a few times complete but missing instructions would hurt the price for sure. I just sold a Stronghold instructions for $50 and cakewalk would also fall around that price, instructions could go for alot more but that was what price I thought they are worth. Now if you look at those boxes and carts in that auction they are near perfect and when was the last time they were for sale? It might be worth it since they are very hard to find. Buyatari #3 Posted August 24, 2006 Are the instructions the only way to tell if they are PAL or not? The only mint ones I've seen came from the batch that poped up a few years back and I thought all of those were complete but there were some PALs in that batch as well. Not saying the seller is trying to pull a fast one he is mostly a Nintendo collector and might be a victim.
Marco #4 Posted August 24, 2006 There would be some kind of sticker on the box, if it were PAL. Mind you, a mint boxed PAL version of those two games - not being the German Ariola release - may be rarer than the NTSC version. Cheers, Marco
TomBrazil #5 Posted August 24, 2006 People are too harsh with PAL carts. Dont you know they can be rare? (taking advantage of Marco's knowledge)

Mind you, a mint boxed PAL version of those two games - not being the German Ariola release - may be rarer than the NTSC version. I bought several NTSC sets and bought a few PALs as well. As you say there is a small sticker on the back of the box but it isn't held on very well. It could easily be removed with little or no damage and I would surmize that many have fallen off with time alone. It might be rarer but they were certainly sold for less money. I just find it very curious in this case that the instructions are missing. I think the price is too high anyway but should someone consider buying these I would recommend you first find out how receptive the seller is to a return should they turn out to be PAL. Unless you are Marco and you like em that way Edited August 24, 2006 by Buyatari

+Wonder007 #9 Posted August 25, 2006 I would get these two games but they do not have the instructions...big turn-off for me!!!
Trade-N-Games #10 Posted August 25, 2006 I would get these two games but they do not have the instructions...big turn-off for me!!! 2600.com has the instructions in stock for some time now around $90 each and you might be able to get them a little lower. At the opening price and they seem to be in mint condition and then with your investment in the instructions that might be ok in price. 2 things, first see how good 2600.com instructions look and then make sure the carts in the auction are NTSC. It might not hurt to offer to buy both for a little better deal. Good luck you dont see those 2 boxes very often.
Buyatari #11 Posted August 25, 2006 I'm sure they'll both be NTSC. At some point someone would have swapped the carts with NTSC ones and sold the PAL carts with the instructions. These carts mark up way too easy. The only MINT ones came in the NOS find a few years back. Prior to that I never saw a mint loose cart. If someone had a boxed PAL game just where would they find a loose NTSC MINT copy. Two titles in mint shape at that. I guess its possible.

I am still happy about investing in the entire CommaVid mint new old stock, for precisely that reason.
gamme #13 Posted August 25, 2006 forget the buy it now and actually sell the thing with a low starting bid and see what it's really worth. If someone buys it then I'll agree with the buy it now. Until then make it a real auction.
+Omegamatrix #14 Posted August 25, 2006 Wow! That's a lot of dough. I personally only have Stronghold loose, and I am happy with that. I would love to own that Cakewalk though. I do have a Cakewalk repo made by some great guy that is topnotch and does the trick for now.

If yes too all my questions, kindly email me back asap today so that the Payment can be mailed out today , Regards, So even though it would be nice if the person pays, it looks like I got screwed out of my ebay fees I'll keep you posted. As far as the price goes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I've had 3 decent offers for both. I may end up going that route in the end, but we'll see. Thanks Danny

Thanks Danny Thats a scam dont waste you time with them! Report them to Ebay ASAP and relist your items and you should be able to get your fees back without a problem. Now why did you not post early on that they were your auctions? With how rare the games are you might have been able to sell them right here without the fees and this scam. If you got few good offers you should just work it out with them. By the way your boxes are very nice as I said in the post above your price was not to bad. I don't spend much time bumping around on the forums too much. Most of my internet time is spent listing stuff on ebay. I'll keep that in mind for the next batch of auctions though Thanks Danny PS I did report it to ebay right away, so hopefully that works
Darth Vader #21 Posted September 1, 2006 Just an FYI, the buyer just got NARU'd, thanks to myself and a few others on ebay that I alerted to this scam. I also contacted the local police department, if they by chance send me a check. Danny
