jbanes #26 Posted August 29, 2006 I don't buy into the idea behind it because of the arcade game. In the arcade version it's clearly some kind of vehicle or cannon you are piloting. I don't think Ed Logg was all about Fairey Gnomes and te like... Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Fairy Gnome thing went for the arcade too. Dona Bailey did the design, while Ed Logg did the programming. Thus the Gnomes. (If you look at this image of a Garden Gnome, you can see how the Centipede cannon resembles it.) The Gnome connection was obviously downplayed in the arcade version (notice that the artwork doesn't show one anywhere), but revived for the home version. Don't ask me why, because I have no idea.
