jbanes #4 Posted August 25, 2006 Anyone who needs such help should be embarassed. Don't be such a spoil-sport! These vids can help rekindle interest in certain games by showing how it was supposed to be played. I don't know about anyone else, but there are quite a few I never invest enough time in and eventually just throw on the shelf to collect dust. Indiana Jones is a perfect example of this! (And who *can* figure out how to beat this %^#%#! game on their own?) In other instances, these videos showcase games that you might not have. For example, I had no interest in Venture. But after watching the video, I think I might pick up a copy. Same with MouseTrap and Shark Attack! Finally, some of these tricks are of the type that friends might have told you back in the day. (e.g. That the hole in the Bezerk head is the perfect place to destroy the robot bullets from.) Well, we didn't all have every Atari game back in the day. So we have some catching up to do. So there. NovaXpress #5 Posted August 25, 2006 Oh, I approve due to historical reasons. I enjoy that shit. But if someone needs help to play Berzerk . . . Of course, I solved ROTLA the first afternoon I owned it. I can't believe people had so much trouble figuring out how to work the Staff of Ra.

I love these and I find the narrator's voice hilarious. The Demon Attack one is GREAT. But, my favorite line is from Defender... "Shooting the hostages is considered bad form." There is a statement that works well in any situation. -Ray Edited August 26, 2006 by pocketmego
Deteacher #7 Posted August 26, 2006 Anyone who needs such help should be embarassed. Actually, I found it quite useful. I didn't know that the walkers slowed down with each color change in Star Wars: The Emipre Strikes Back. Thank you OP! I'll be trying this out today! Of course, I solved ROTLA the first afternoon I owned it. I can't believe people had so much trouble figuring out how to work the Staff of Ra. I have yet to fully try.. Raiders. As for problems solving a game, E.T. I solved easy by reading the instructions. I don't get why so many were lost, its not at all hard to me. It would be one of the easier 2600 quest games to finish. I don't see it being simple for kids though. 2600 is not the easiest systems to start with anyway. BUT ITS WORTH IT! --- Speaking of quests, Porky's last level, the one with the arrows, I think I have cursed enough trying this... there's no way to win it!! I don't know how much more abuse I wanna take. Edited August 26, 2006 by JacobZu7zu7

pocketmego #11 Posted August 30, 2006 I\'ll have to check these out! If anything, for kicks. They can be fun, but i agree with everyone else in that they can also be useful. Some of their tips are legitimate and the narrator does make the games seem pretty interesting, he has a good speaking voice. -Ray
