LeafsFan47 #4 Posted August 26, 2006 One of the games on the Taito Nostalgia #1 unit looks like Gladiator, one of my all time favorite arcade games.

JB #7 Posted August 27, 2006 I wonder if Qix will make the lineup in the future... and if it'll be worth buying this time. ... Ooooh, digital thumbsticks. While I'd prefer actual joysticks, it's still a nice compromise between the right way and the modern way.
BrianC #8 Posted August 27, 2006 (edited) One of the games on the Taito Nostalgia #1 unit looks like Gladiator, one of my all time favorite arcade games. It IS Gladiator. Gold Castle is the translation of the Japanese title for the game. Oddly enough, the Japanese one actually has nudity in it. The nudity was censored in the US version. I'm not completely sure, but I think "Legend of Dark" is Legend of Kage. Taito Nostalgia #2 sounds awesome. It has Kiki Kaikai and Alcon in it. 3) Taito Nostalgia #1 - Legend of Dark and The Gold Castle-Legend of Kage? and Gladiator (US title)4) Taito Nostalgia #2 - Slap Fight and?Monsters-Alcon (US name) and Kiki Kaikai (untranslated Japanese title in romanji) Edited August 27, 2006 by BrianC
yuppicide #9 Posted August 28, 2006 If they weren't so expensive over here they'd be much more better. Only two different games isn't that appetizing and the joysticks do like kind of crap quality, but never the less they look cool and I want them. BrianC #10 Posted August 28, 2006 (edited) Only two different games Technically, there are four different games in these, the originals, and new games based on the classics. Also, the video footage on the site is quite promising and the games seem to run well in it. Slap Fight/Alcon hasn't been ported for awhile. It's nice to see it being brought back, though I'm wondering why it isn't in the Taito Legends collections since they apparantly still have the rights to it. One thing that's interesting is that, aside from the new stuff, the games in both Namco Nostalgia collections are in Namco Musuem v. 2 for PSX. The main controller I'm interested in is the Slap Fight and Kiki Kai Kai one. The others, not so much, though being able to play as the Amazon in Gladiator sounds cool. I'm not a huge fan of Legend of Kage (though the new version with the female ninja and the wolf does sound cool) and I have the Namco games in Namco Museum 2 and various other versions. I also have Gladiator in Taito Legends PS2. The uncensored nudity in the Japanese version is not a selling point for me.
