Music Machine, boxed Waterworld, Rescue Terra, more...

Recommended Posts

Well it makes the $275 I paid for my sealed Waterworld seem worthwhile...

(though mine suffers somewhat from plastic compression over the previous 20 years and there are some bends and creases in the box)

Wonder007: You only won one game? What's going on?

Music Machine is mine, screw the box!

Actually, I am about to make a huge acquisition from somebody here which involves many of the big-priced items (boxes, protos, etc..) seen recently on ebay including the stuff from today. I just bidded on some of the stuff because I need some trade bait. In fact, I have been more successful on getting stuff that I really need based on stuff I have dups of over the money (sounds weird but true).

Congrats on Music Machine.....I'm waiting for the box and instructions.

Believe it or not, the item I really was going for today was the Rescue Terra game---got that and I am very happy. Now I have another dup for trading or selling. :)

Aargh you're a hoarder ;) Wow, the game I paid $280 for several months ago is now going for $404 with 4 people willing to pay atleast $320 and 3 people willing to pay atleast $350. I think this game is going up because the reserves have been totally depleted and there is starting to be a build up of people who want this game.

Also, are you about to buy CPU Wiz out?

Crazy Climber: I would trade them for stuff on my Wanted List on the Wanted postings in this forum, or a significant amount of cash.

Wonder007: Get in line, when that box shows up, it's going to hit close to $2000, maybe even more because it's sick how difficult it is to find.

Also, do you collect anything else other than Atari 2600?

Well, we'll see who gets the next Music Machine box. I know it will be a tough fight.

In terms of other items I collect, I have a pretty extensive Colecovision collection but could be better. Other than that, that is it for me. :)

Yep, the next one that shows up is going to be ugly, everyone except Rick and maybe Marco (or whoever cvga sold his to) needs it.

That's why that box is way out of my league =)

Wonder: I collect for all sorts of systems, and this was basically the LAST system I needed to have a decent collection for. You've got a hell of an Atari 2600 collection, though.

I'd like to see you try and collect for other systems though. That would be pretty interesting =)

I feel I have a pretty nice Atari 2600 collection. Of course, it has taken a bunch of money to get it to that point.

The other systems really don't do much for me. I am very connected with the Atari 2600 because I have great memories with it as a child. The 2600 brings the kid out of me.

I also had the Colecovision but man those controllers were terrible.

Hey Dreamtr, which system is your favorite? How far are you from completing the Atari 2600 collection with at least the carts???

Wonder007: My favorite is the NES. My first system was an Astrocade, that was the only thing my dad ever gave me, and that was back in 1982 when it was already dead. When I got an NES in 1987, I was obsessed with it because it was the first system that mimicked arcade graphics. I used to go to arcades religiously when I was little, and have plenty of stories about living in the North Las Vegas ghettos and going to random arcades for years =) I saw commercials for the 2600, but it looked so rudimentary. I did not even start playing that system until the mid 80s when I moved to Florida, and it just paled in comparison to the NES and all those hours of VS. Excitebike, Vs. Super Mario Bros, VS. Tennis and more that I used to play in places like Godfather's Pizza. Ah, the good 'ol days ;)

About how far I am from completing 2600? I'm not trying to obtain all the carts. Variations from Sears, Panda, etc are no-nos for me because I really only wanted a decent collection of the majority of the boxed games that were not made in duplicate form like the Panda and majority of Sears titles. Basically, I'm missing around 15-18 games I want to say, including Eli's Ladder and Video Life, which I am not sure I will obtain, and I am choosing not to obtain Magicard, so even when I finish, I'll have around 97-98% of the total releases, but I won't try for everything on purpose. Other systems, that's a different story!

Mayhem: It's more of a programming game, no box, I could get a lookalike repro pretty cheap, it just does not make sense for me to obtain it.....I never had interest. Yet I have interest in Video Life "somewhat". go figure.

Fair enough, I can understand if you're just going after games.

Of course I'm sitting here with a real first release Magicard, real overlays and real manual, and one of CPUWiz's boxes in my collection :)

Hey DreamTR, I'll send you a PM with a cash offer. Also could you post or PM me a link with your wanted list? Sounds like one of the above posts confirms that there's only 3 known copy's of the Music Machine box, good luck on that one guys....I think it will go for more than 2 grand.

BTW - I agree with you on Magicard, I don't have any interest in it either. Maybe if I could score one cheap but I passed on one that was for sale online for months for about 800 bucks and I doubt I'll see it cheaper than that, just doesn't interest me for some reason.

There are more than 2.

Was CVGA the guy who had a boxed Pepsi Invaders? If not add 1.

I know of one more where I took too long and passed up a chance to get one for 600.00 :(

I though being lazy was a good thing :(
