2600 Pleiades? Is this game good?

Wanted to know some opinions from people that have this game or know info about it. Is this game worth the purchase to play and own? Is it any fun? Just how good is it or not.

Well, it's better than the Emerson Arcadia version... but not as entertaining as the best shooters on the 2600, like Demon Attack and Galaxian. The graphics are colorful, but the characters are tiny, and each stage feels contrived. The designers seem like they're trying to break free of the typical shooter conventions, but their new ideas just don't come together as well as the concepts in more popular shoot 'em ups.

 

Pleiades started out in arcades as a hack of Phoenix, and even in the less detailed 2600 version, you can kind of sense that. Still, it packs some bang for the buck... I'd say it's about as good as the 2600 version of Gorf. Download the ROM and play it on an emulator before you commit yourself to a purchase.

I'll pretty much agree with Jess on this one.... Not the BEST game of it's type on the 26000, but still pretty cool. In my opinion, it's worth the purchase. I recently got Tecmo arcade on the X-box, and Pleiades is on there. I actually enjoy the 2600 version more.

Yep, worth the purchase. Especially since Al has a box to go with it.

OUt of the three gmaes that AA released from UA Ltd, this one is my favorite. The box is really cool. I actually enjoy the game quite a bit, though it's not as good as Galaxian or Phoenix.
