how much is a capcom pad soldier worth?

i recently found a boxed capcom pad soldier at a thrift store and bought it for $3.99, how much is it worth?

and should i keep it or not?

Snes games i have:

Starfox

SMW

Super tennis

Piliotwings

F-zero

It's worth a lot more for the 3DO, I suspect. Capcom released it for that system in limited quantities, and it's the only controller that works well with Super Street Fighter II Turbo. For some ridiculous reason, Capcom selected a different button than Start/Pause to pause the game, making everything BUT the Soldier Pad impractical to use with SSFIIT.

 

It's especially frustrating when you get a controller converter for the 3DO. You've got a Playstation or Super NES pad in your hands, thinking that your favorite 3DO games (both of them) will finally play as good as they look... only to discover that you're pausing the game every time you try to perform a medium dragon punch.

It's not a good controller for the games you listed because there are no shoulder buttons. It is a great controller for street fighter games, arcadey two-button games, etc.
