pocketmego #1 Posted September 7, 2006 Seriously, I could see a lot of great adventure potential in Midnight Mutants. But, that game is ridiculously hard. I figured once I got the knife it would all be golden. But, man its like taking down At AT's in Empire Strikes back in that game. Am I missing something? -Ray
jetset #2 Posted September 7, 2006 I thought so too. I was looking foward to a good Adventure game on the 7800 but got frustrated quickly, and haven't played it since.
DracIsBack #3 Posted September 7, 2006 Once you figure out where the pieces are, it isn't so bad. When you are unarmed or are missing the knife, it makes far more sense to avoid rather than fight. Find the lantern, the axe and a couple of potions for health and blood purity and you'll find it ain't so bad.
Cousin Vinnie #4 Posted September 7, 2006 Well, I slammed the game in my review for being too easy because the instructions give everything away. Now the boss battles are a nice challenge regardless. I hate being cheesy, here is my guide/ walkthru on the Atari 7800 Froo Froo site that John Harvey wrote: http://flipsiderunner.com/7800/mmc.html Hope it helps. This game is great, all you need is a little help and encouragement. Cousin Vinnie

This is a beta version of the game that appears to be complete (from what little I played of it), but much harder. If you find any major differences let me know, I'm not good enough to play through it more than once or twice. Nope that's all I have. I have the two EPROM images, can those be made into an .bin file? Honestly, it's been so long since I dumped the proto I don't know how I even made that .a78 file. If you know some cheats on that, let me know.lol
pocketmego #11 Posted September 8, 2006 Thanks for some of the advice guys. I'm a BIG b-grade horror fan and I think if I stick with this one, it will be worthwhile. -Ray
roadrunner #12 Posted December 21, 2008 Midnight Mutants is a great game! What works best for me is to pick up the items in this order- knife, cross, lantern, axe, key, blaster, and the mega blaster. When you have the mega blaster go fight the second boss. When i go to get the necklace i always die trying to get back to the lab, even when i have the mega blaster. 7800Lover #13 Posted December 21, 2008 Even with the blaster, I've never been able to beat the second boss. Midnight Mutants is very challenging. And it's more frustrating that there is no continue or password feature!
