8th lutz #1 Posted September 7, 2006 http://www.gamespot.com/news/6157274.html?...estnews;title;1 According to this link, This firmware version prevents issues with writing files, digital right management in ATRAC format music, and problems with reading cards larger than four gigabytes along with a free demo for World Tour Soccer 06 that is downloadable. EricDeLee #2 Posted September 8, 2006 Any word yet about the PSone emulation???? It is almost as if Sony teased us and then I've heard nothing about it after that. Isn't it supposed to be this fall (as in really really soon) ?????
Flojomojo #3 Posted September 8, 2006 No doubt it also attempts to plug the security hole that was recently discovered. I've read that the PSOne emulator will launch alongside PS3 -- downloaded games can be transferred using a PC or a PS3, but probably not downloaded directly. I'm prepared to be underwhelemed by the upcoming announcement, but it sure would be neat to have two of my favorite games (which have not been updated), Jet Moto and Colony Wars on the go. EricDeLee #4 Posted September 8, 2006 See.. here we are sitting around waiting for the launch date of 17NOV... I really think about things in about a three month cycle. 90 days. We are well into that 90 day window.... and I've basically learned that you must plan things out further. (I'm military minded.... so please forgive me). I just hate that it really hasn't been officially put out for everyone to read about and to get ready for... and here we are in that 90-day window. Call me crazy. Flojomojo #5 Posted September 8, 2006 Are you a marine? (just guessing from the Michigan location) No doubt Sony is planning internally, but they probably want to manage the hype cycle so everyone is all psyched up to BUY just before they can do so. Leaking information this far in advance gives people too much time to think. Anyone with 90 days to really think over whether or not they need a $600 game machine will probably opt to wait. Drop it on someone impulsive with cash, or on someone who has been waiting for two years and saving pennies, and you'll have a sale. I like how they sweeten the upgrade deal by throwing in game demos. I got that soccer demo on a disc in the mail a few weeks back, nice to see it again in downloadable form. EricDeLee #6 Posted September 8, 2006 Where do you get the PSP demos from???? I was hoping to get some but only have the Lemmings one for reserving the Lemmings game. Army for the past 11 years. I just finished moving to Michigan... will be in the Guard here.
