MYSTERY COLECO CART FROM BEYOND THE INFINITE!

Recommended Posts

I went into the local used gaming store, to see if they had a CX40.. THey had one broken one, (or so they thought it was broken), and they gave it to me. (I tested it and it worked fine.. Go fig). Then as I was on the way out, I spotted this coleco cart with no label on it. I took it to the register, and asked what game it was.

The clerk shot me a look of fear and muttered "Oh no! You found... IT!!!!"

"IT? What's 'IT?'"

"You found THE MYSTERY COLECO CART FROM BEYOND THE INFINITE!"

"Uh.. OK. What's that mean?"

"It means NOBODY knows what's on the the cart! Yea, nobody even knows the consequences of playing it! It could be a common Donkey Kong! It could be the Turbo prototype! It could be a gateway to an alternate dimension, where Elvis, Jimmy Hoffa and Amelia Earhart are currently residing! NOBODY KNOWS!"

I immediately aske him if he had any more drugs, but he said he just finished smoking it all. He gave me the cart, and set me on my way with a warning...

"BEWARE!"

"Sure thing, ace!"

So now I have the cart, and have yet to put it in my 7800 to see what it is. What do you think is lurking inside the MYSTERY COLECO CART FROM BEYOND THE INFINITE! ?

Pancake Boy!

:rolling:

I hope that one of these days, a homebrewer will make a Pancake Boy game. Maybe make it like a combination of Food Fight and Burgertime.

I carefully put the MYSTERY COLECO CART FROM BEYOND THE INFINITE! this afternoon. And I. was. shocked. I have never SEEN such glorious, glourious things in my life! I was [put on a new plane of consciousness! I had all the mysteries of the universe revealed to me! Oh how I wish others could attain such a state of spirituality! It was glorious!

Still, a feeling deep within my being told me that something was not quite right. The gloriousness of the revealed mysteries were met with a twinge of... Dread? Fear? Yes, these and more.

I will reveal more later. I am filled with joy and dread right now.

Nope. It's Frogger. All unlabeled carts are Frogger.

How it ended up in a Coleco cart... that is the "mystery"!

No. It's Space Attack. ;)

Well, I've decided to take the scientific approach.

I took the JPEG of the cart, and placed it in a vacuum chamber, along with some superglue poured onto some aluminum foil.

The fumes from the superglue etched themselves into the area of the picture of the cart where the ink on the label used to be.

And thus the game stands revealed as.... Zaxxon!

I was hoping it would be a 2600 port of Polybius, which Coleco just happened to get a license for.
