8bit4life #1 Posted September 12, 2006 For those who missed it on DP a few months back: Thoughts??
ATARIPITBULL #2 Posted September 12, 2006 I like the way the person glued a bunch of stuff all over the 2600, gutted it, spray painted it, then put those soviet style stickers on it. The give away is the English words on the top which should have been in Russian.

A.J. Franzman #4 Posted September 13, 2006 (edited) Thoughts?? Bogus. No Cyrillic alphabet Russian text. You can still see where the Atari logo was on the woodgrain panel (it may have been sanded off, but still shows as an area of different texture.) The stars and other logos are decals from the same model kit that all the other glued-on parts came from. The USSR may have copied our technology mercilessly, but I doubt that any Russian had so little self-respect as to slap this monstrosity together. Did Russian kids even have plastic model kits to build? It's probably an American or Japanese kit. Edited September 13, 2006 by A.J. Franzman
pocketmego #5 Posted September 13, 2006 Well it's definately a model. One of the pics clearly shows a bulkhead door, like the kind you find on ships on one of the pieces. Probably not made in Russia at all, like AJ said, I would assume its just a mod someone thought up. -Ray
A.J. Franzman #6 Posted September 13, 2006 (edited) The added parts appear to be from a model of some kind of tracked vehicle, probably an APC. Above the two pairs of console switches are the mud skirts. The large door on top of the hull top (left side of console, possibly the one Ray was referring to) appears not to belong there, since there's no reason for it to be asymmetrical in that position; it probably belongs on one of the vehicle's sides. Also, in front of that door is a large out-of-scale, non-detailed cylindrical lever protruding from an oval slot in a dome-shaped bulge. This looks like the power switch for a battery-powered motorized model kit. Edited September 13, 2006 by A.J. Franzman

jbanes #11 Posted September 13, 2006 Hey! I've got one too! Check out the pic below. Look at that. They copied the Fuji logo and everything. Gosh darn Soviet pirates! On the original, it's a great looking mod. You should consider reselling modded versions. (Preferrably with the circuits put back in the box.) But making it look like a steel bunker? Not very realistic. До свидания, товарищ 8bit4life.
Vic George 2K3 #12 Posted September 13, 2006 Not sure I see the point of those ugly black clamp devices glued to the grilled top part of the 2600.

Actually, if Russia made Ataris the way they made cars, then this is probaby a Very Heavy Sixer.
