Rik #1 Posted September 15, 2006 (edited) Hi,everyone,I picked up a second atari 400 at the flea market this weekend,as is,the game playing function works flawless, its the keyboard. As you already know the 400 uses a flat membrane as a keyboard, all the keys work except for the first 2 keys on each row going down on both sides, weird. Can this be fixed?without having to replace the whole membrane.Thanx(sorry for posting twice,my browser screwed up on me) Edited September 15, 2006 by Rik
Rybags #2 Posted September 15, 2006 Possibly a problem in the conductive traces? I think fixes have been suggested which involve going over broken traces with either a car demister repair kit, or painting on silver laquer. Or it might be something simpler like a loose keyboard ribbon cable.

Hi,and thank you for your response. What exactly is a"car demister repair kit",and what do you mean by painting on silver laquer.Excuse my ignorance on these matters, reply much appreciated,as it would be great to fix this keyboard instead of butchering it for spare parts! Forrest #4 Posted September 17, 2006 A car window defogger repair kit is just a bottle of electrically conductive paint with a brush. You'll find this item at a car repair store.
