Flash cart question.

Please excuse my ignorance--I'm really new to doing anything else than playing games on my 1200XL.

 

So this flash cart thing--it intrigues me. I don't have the space to run a PC alongside my A8, so the SIO2PC option is out for me.

 

Now, I have a ton of atr images on my ibook. Is there a way I can transfer them to a multicart, plug that into my A8, and fire away?

 

Or is it more complicated than that...

The flash cart is programmed from the Atari.

 

So, your issue would be getting the .ATR images over to the Atari first.

 

Your best bet is an APE interface, they can be built cheaply ( < $5 parts) or a prebuilt one for a bit more from http://www.atarimax.com

Try that message. It still requires Windows. You should still get the SIO2PC interface. Its to useful to be without.

I wonder if you can use a VM solution? I unfortunately do not know all that much about Mac's, and their VM software solutions....

With the SIO2PC, I think there is a Mac version of the software. You will have to find a compatible USB2serial converter. I know doctorclu uses a Mac in this fashion.
