Does anyone have "The Lot"?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone actually have a complete set of 2600 games?

Probably not, but are some people close?

How many Games do ppl have?

Im only a modest collector, im only aiming for one of each game ( No label variations)., However if i cant get a NTSC motoreodeo im not going to throw a fit and scream.." Its not Fair! Why did they make it!" lol :)

It's so hard to determine what a full set of Atari 2600 games would be.

Would you count Air Raid? We still don't know where it was released.....I think it's Mexico.

What about Karate by UltraVision? It's the same as Froggo's so is it a label variation?

What about Brazil carts, there NTSC format but there mostly just label variations of US games but not all of them.

PAL format? They had some original games as well.

Service/programming tools like the color bar generator, Magicard, Romox and Xante carts?

Don't forget all the homebrew's out there too.

If you mean just one playable version of each game then I'm pretty close, probably down to the last 20 or so but some games like Gauntlet and Air Raid are just to damn rare. I think I will most likely only own those in repro form :D

Ain't no way I ever expect to get all the titles.

I just grab them when I get the opportunity, and I go enjoy what I've got.

I think completing all first released originals is a nice collector's goal.

That's what I consider complete. No use buying 20 copies of the same game because of the label. Unless its a sears picture label Superman or a silver label Gravitar, only label variations worth having IMO.

My only wish is to collect every NTSC game and Atari corporation product ever made, so I will never have a complete collection.

I'm at 238 titles in my collection. Most of that came in the mid 1990s when I could still easily find carts in the wild. A few are off of eBay and other Internet sites, but most were flea markets, second hand shops, yard sales and such.

My count includes a couple hacks on cart, and I'll be adding a homebrew soon.

I never have concerned myself with label variations or anything like that. I didn't even care if they had a label! All that mattered to me was that the cart works.

I haven't been hunting in the wild for years. Gave it up. I'd either find things I already had, or nothing at all, and it got tiring of going out and coming back empty handed. I miss the days when I knew I could go and come back with something.

I agree with Rom, getting all of them is nigh on impossible. I for one have given up for with the sheer volume of known pirate copies floating around there are stioll an unknown number still waiting to be discovered. It would take more time and more money than is available to one person to ever be able to achieve this goal ;)

Actually, the fact that it's so hard to get 'em all makes collecting the VCS so much fun. I used to feel the same about the 5200, 7800 and Intellivision, but as I near sets for those systems, my interest wanes. There is ALWAYS something new to get for the 2600, whether it be a rare game or a simple $1 label variant you don't have at the flea market. Maybe it's just me, but I like the fact that it's so hard to get everything for.

Just out of curiosity, what's the most difficult 2600 game to obtain?

Go Go Home Monster :D ;)

Amen to that. :) If that one ever appears there'll be a huge bidding war among us PAL types.

Incidentally, when commenting that there's no point in having 1 game with 20 label variations, remember that in a fairly large proportion of times there are minor differences in the ROM too, i.e. changed brand names.

Then of course there's the fact that some games only seem to appear in multi-game consoles!

To get one of everything is an almost impossible task... but that sure as heck isn't going to stop anyone trying. :)
