Chickybaby #2 Posted September 21, 2006 The dog had to puke one time we weren't home and threw up in a corner which happened to hold video game stuff. Not that he did it on purpose but, It was pretty nasty. Quite a few yrs ago, while my rat was out playing with us she decided to "sample" my favorite hockey jersey I was wearing. She also had a stuffed animal fetish *wince* and could pull things through 1/8 in cage bars. Our African Grey's cage is down on the ground floor and near the computer and laundry room. FYI - never pile clothes too close to a bird's cage, lol, hubbs had a pair of khaki work pants "re-hemmed" because he tossed them a lil too close to her cage. She's a smart bugger and pulled them in by stretching her leg as far as she could and just catching the edge of the seam. I wold definitely get bitter apple spray and not let the dog in the area. Also, maybe buy some chew stuff to keep your pup occupied and not chewing your stuff. Since the dog is still alive as far as we know you're a good guy. keilbaca #4 Posted September 21, 2006 My dog pissed on a sears heavy sixer and puked on a 2nd gen genesis. I'm going to clean up the heavy sixer and make that one my project atari, then when I get R's atari in, make that one the one for the collection. phitter #5 Posted September 21, 2006 (edited) Wow - at least it wasn't worse that that. My dog once ate my wife's diamond earrings and I was put in charge of the recovery effort. Actual x-ray: -phitter Edited September 30, 2006 by phitter
ATARIPITBULL #6 Posted September 21, 2006 Man in my house I would be saying: MAKE WAY, DEAD DOG WALKING.
+FujiSkunk #7 Posted September 21, 2006 A long time ago I had a guinea pig that we would let run through the house. Cute little critter, I still miss him, but he did have a taste for paper, which is what video game manuals are made out of... Fortunately, the rarest manual he partook of was a Midnight Magic, and I've since replaced them all.
+atari2600land #8 Posted September 21, 2006 When I was a kid, I had a dog that liked to chew on my sister's Barbie dolls. Luckily, I had no Atari 2600 games at the time (I didn't even know what one was, what with the NES being all the rage.) Now I keep my Atari games in a plastic container so my current dog can't pee on them. The only paper my current dog likes is toilet paper (but I only have 4 manuals and 2 catalogs.) +remowilliams #11 Posted September 21, 2006 just goes to show, your dog's got good taste Bah, if he had discriminating taste he'd have gone for the rarer ones - tastes great, less filling!
Foxsolo2000 #12 Posted September 21, 2006 I remember that my dog some years ago ate half my collection of Gobots. Man I was very P***** that day but thankfully he never got near my precious 2600

Shawn #15 Posted September 21, 2006 My dog ate my and then puked back up my 70's and 80's collection of Hockey Cards as well as my Star Wars cards once. That was not the primary reason but it was the last straw. I sent the dog to the pound. The primary reason was becuase it pissed on the Christmas Tree
+Wonder007 #16 Posted September 21, 2006 I have a chewed up Super Mario 3 cart for the Nintendo.....but I bought it that way...got a good deal for it. I do have a dog, a boxer to be exact, but she hasn't done anything like what happen to Crazy Climber. This is a good wake up call for me to make sure everything is locked and secured. Atari Dogs #18 Posted September 22, 2006 I can't get mad at him, Here's a few of his brother Rufus I will keep all my games in my cabinet from now on though You think the dogs can do damage, you should see what kids can do. Their general rules are: 1) if it is on the floor, step on it, 2) if it is on a table either pick it up and drop it or spill something on it, and 3) if at all possible spit up on it. +Omegamatrix #19 Posted September 22, 2006 My dog decided to chew on one of my Hockey Sticker Albums. '81 - '82 season I think. I was so pissed. I had it almost complete. In the end I couldn't get to mad at him. I just kept all the albums out of reach after that.
ewomack #20 Posted September 22, 2006 Pets and collectibles don't go together sometimes. That's why I'm allergic. At least your dog had the sense to tear up hockey cards. Pre-1970s hockey cards don't fetch much on the market. In fact, they fetch very little. A sad state, really. Since I've never lived with pets my precious collectibles (what few I have) remain in tip top shape.

They are man's best friend @BTW, Crazy Climber, great looking dogs....I'm going to try to put a picture of Jenny (my boxer).

elviticus #24 Posted September 30, 2006 Well, I have a Dachsund - COMPLETELY crazy. But, I'm happy to say, when he was a puppy I yelled at him any time he got near any game stuff. Now he treats my game collection like it's poisonous - good deal.
Student Driver #25 Posted September 30, 2006 My cat liked to chew on things that were wrapped in plastic. Some of my laserdisc box sets show a bit of damage on the corners, some of my comics were chewed up. I used to get angry about it-- nothing like paying $200 for a LD set just to have the packging looking ratty a week later. My cat's passed away now, but I still have the laserdiscs and comics. I'd gladly get rid of everything to have my cat back. In the end she was a lot more precious to me than anything collectible.
