Lemmi #8 Posted September 22, 2006 is this a pgp-1? pgp-1 encodes a transmembrane protein that is a member of the P-glycoprotein subclass of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily; along with PGP-3, PGP-1 is required for defense against the pathogenic Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain PA14, and may facilitate ATP-dependent efflux of the toxic phenazine compounds produced by the bacteria; PGP-1 is expressed in the apical membrane of intestinal cells and in the intestinal valve cells; loss of pgp-1 activity via large-scale RNAi screens does not result in any obvious abnormalities. but seriously what is it? Basically it was a 2600 Game Genie. You could load carts into memory and modify variables (I think only up to 8K though). Answer test marketed it to a few people but never released it. I think there are 3 or so in existance. Tempest
Chickybaby #10 Posted September 23, 2006 After reading about it from the other thread, I am surprised it took this long to post to your "wanted". Good luck!
Buyatari #11 Posted September 23, 2006 I could be wrong but I think there are a total of two known and I think the two who own them would never sell. Marco and Rick maybee? I am pretty sure Marco bought Al's and I think Rick got the one from the huge collection for 30k that was sold here. What was the sellers name Bill Somerak ? Its possible John Hardie might have one as well. So either 2 or 3 and unless something drastic happens I can see any of those guys selling. If a new one pops up look out. The price for it will exceed the price you paid for your 2700.

Although my top priority is really the software over the hardware, it really would look nice in my collection. I am sure it will be higher than the 2700, that's a given. Buyatari #14 Posted September 23, 2006 I do not believe Rick has one, Marco got his from William (the big collection) and I do think that Hardie may have Al's. Well I know Marco bought out most of Als rares. So its either him or Hardie. Unless they both got one which is possible and that would make 3.

I'm fairly sure John has AL's PGP unless he sold it to Marco later. I was at PC2 when Al was getting rid of most of his rare stuff (I got his Compumate) and I asked him about the PGP and I think John told me something like I never had a chance to get it because he had first dibs on it. Marco got the Compumate in the end, it just took a few more years... Tempest
Crazy Climber #16 Posted September 23, 2006 Here's a direct quote from the Digital Press collector's guide #7 Availiable directly through Answer for a short time, this peripheral allows you to change the code on exsisting games to your own liking. It doesnt actually store the changes on the cartridge - the effects are temporary. Brown and gold with white keys the unit sits on top of the Atari 2600. Two cables (one to the cartridge port and one to the power receptacle connect it) We only know of several in exsistence (One of which is owned by staffer John Hardie) Good Luck man
Buyatari #17 Posted September 23, 2006 I think John has ALs PGP-1. If Marco got the one from the Somerack collection that makes sense. He bought out the collection with Rick and if he already had one then I'm sure Rick would have taken the one from the deal. I'm fairly sure John has AL's PGP unless he sold it to Marco later. I was at PC2 when Al was getting rid of most of his rare stuff (I got his Compumate) and I asked him about the PGP and I think John told me something like I never had a chance to get it because he had first dibs on it. Cassidy Nolen #18 Posted September 25, 2006 Wonder, Just drop Hardie a line over at DP. You never know. Priorities change. If somebody offered me enough for my Computer Space 2P I might sell. A few years ago, no way. He may be the same way. Worth asking. You're not going to get it cheap but you can offer something reasonable and go from there... You never know. I have gotten some great stuff from John before (albeit not 'that' rare ). Cassidy

+Wonder007 #23 Posted October 3, 2006 You are funny Marco...it is from PAL land but I can play NTSC games. I have been too scared to turn it on though because I do not understand the electrical conversion.... to be honest with you, I haven't really had time to play around with it. BTW, I will top Rick's offer for a PGP-1.
