Vectrex multicarts

Recommended Posts

It seems like a strange design to me. Menu-driven Vectrex multicarts that can hold the entire library to date on one cart have been around for years. I don't know why he didn't just copy that design instead of coming up with his own that can only hold like 11 games and has to come on multiple carts.

One word.........GENERIC!!!

Just buy a Sean Kelly version. Be patient, they show up from time to time and are way cooler than that piece of garbage.

Just my opinion

I 2nd Vecflash. That way you can just put on the games you want to play. I had two Sean Kelly multicarts and it was a pain in the ass to turn the system off and on every time to get back to the menu, then sit through the annoying menu song and then have to scroll through a bunch of sound/graphics demos, protos, crap games to get to the one you want. You probably don't want every game/demo.

I'd personally love to get a VecFlash, but the problem that I and a few other people here have is that we don't have a PC to use with it. There's no Mac OS X software. There's Commodore Amiga drivers, but not Mac. Until that time, I'll stay away from the VecFlash.

There's no Mac OS X software

There's a guy I know from RGV working on Linux and Mac versions of the loader.

I'm not familar with Macs, but I imagine it would have to have a serial card of some sort ?

Or a USB-to-Serial converter. I bought one to use with my Intellicart, but I haven't ever used it to see how well it works.

that vecflash does look nice, but I've decided just to buy a handful of John Dondizila's homebrews instead, All good things, and patriots just seem sweet,

I'll be getting a VecFlash of my own, based on the great feedback I've seen here.

If any Mac users want someone to flash a cartridge, I'd be willing to do so as a favor ... not that Windows machines are hard to come by, but I understand how it is when you don't have compatibility with everything. :(
