JacobZu7zu7 #1 Posted September 30, 2006 I decided to play this game, and hadn't in a long while. Well, I didn't start out so great, I kept knocking the ball into the ground, which made it disappear. That led me to a 2-16 deficit. Suddenly I picked up my game, and won 21-19. Very satisfying, I did play again, won that time easy. The game has lots of potential, but its either too tough at first or too easy later on. It's still fun and easy to get into. Like almost all Atari games. I would say its 'fair'. What do others think, let me know if you like this game or not.
Scumdogg #2 Posted September 30, 2006 (edited) I just picked up this game recently, but i haven't gotten to play it due to my console dying...some of the switches seem to have gone bad and i don't want to kill it any further. I'm excited to play it though, i know of a few other Apollo games i like, and the concept of video game racquetball amuses me. BassGuitari #3 Posted September 30, 2006 It's a nice-looking game, but I find it difficult to play. Might help if I understood the game better. Beyond that, I think Raquetball is one of Apollo's better-looking titles...they'd come a long way from Skeet Shoot.
Foxsolo2000 #4 Posted September 30, 2006 Raquetball was arguably Apollo's best title. It looked good for its time although ball dynamics could have been tweaked a little bit but this aside a good game.
shadow460 #5 Posted September 30, 2006 Racquetball is decent. It gets ragged on a bit, but if you wanna play racquetball on any console, you just don't have many choices. It fills a niche, and it does that very well. As for best game, well, that's a toos up between Racquetball and Spacechase. Most of Apollo's titles are quite mediocre. They're novel ideas but they get old fast.
Rom Hunter #6 Posted September 30, 2006 I love the no ball label variation: http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft.php?...VERSION_ID=8306

Beyond that, I think Raquetball is one of Apollo's better-looking titles...they'd come a long way from Skeet Shoot. Yeah, I find it very helpfull that there's a blue color for the Computer Player, and orange for Yourself. So its much easier to know who's turn it is, because the action is quick. This game captures the Racquetball feel, very well. Now that I think about it, a sport game is not Atari's strength, (IMO) but this one is pretty decent! I've never played skeet shoot, it sounds like most here think its awful.
supercat #8 Posted October 1, 2006 I've never played skeet shoot, it sounds like most here think its awful. The problem with Skeet Shoot is that there's no challenging difficulty setting. The difficulty is either pathetically easy (hit 25/25 every time) or impossibly hard (only way to hit a target is to correctly guess it before it appears). jpfalcon2003 #9 Posted October 1, 2006 Screenshots look great, but I never played it. i heard it was difficult though
shadow460 #10 Posted October 1, 2006 Racquetball is difficult at first. It does beat getting hit by the ball in real life, though.

The aiming is very limited on Skeet Shoot too. For real skeet shooting on the 2600, I highly recommend picking up Summer Games. The other events in it are quite nifty too. TheHoboInYourRoom #12 Posted October 4, 2006 Eh, Racquetball's okay. It just takes getting into a nice rhythm, though I wish the ball wouldn't project shadows on the walls and ceiling.
