So many neat games, so little time...thoughts on homebrew/hacks

Recommended Posts

Well, what can I say,

I am totally after a bunch of games...

There seem to be so many fun homebrews and hacks, I can't quite keep up, and will have to allow myself only a couple purchases before I exhaust my "play" money.

Anyone else ever have this dilemma?

Currently digging on:

Haunted Adventure Trilogy (I WILL buy this!)

Halloween II, III, and the VS. cart

The House on Haunted Hill that is being worked on (oh yeah!)

Pick-N-Pile (gotta send payment)

as well as about every homebrew/hack that is in the AA store.

What can I say, I like anything with a horror/spooky theme, and I am a game junkie.

I am also under the impression that many of the homebrew and hack games are superior to many of their 2600 forebears. Am I the only one with this impression?

I was not into them very much at first, but now the quality of these new homebrews and hacks are better than the original games they are based on. I am buying the Haunted Adventure Trilogy, I have already paid for the Halloween II,III and the VS.cart and I will be looking at getting House on Haunted hill when it comes out, not to mention the other ones I just bought. Yes I love these new games and I am getting every one I can.

:ponder: :D :D

I hear ya! There's so many games to play, and only limited leisure time / money! If you take into account the emulation scene as well you've got a massive load of games. And this is only the 2600 scene! :) Damn this is a fun hobby!

I pretty much want all the horror themed 2600 carts, and games like Starfire, and Backfire, Venture II. I am likely buying HAT on Friday.
